BennyBlazed, thanks for the kind words, I'm sure it's a long read by now. Season went by quick, not really plants were 10 months old at harvest. I hope ya learned a thing or two. If ya did then this thread did what it was intended to do. If ya have the room try laying a plant down you won't believe it.

Yeh I definitely did learn a fair bit from this, and I'm thinking of doing your technique, but do you think it would be wise to do it in a forested area? or is the risk of bugs and animals too great, although I don't know any large animals that would be interested in eating plant matter in my area. Maybe I'll just test it out. Thanks for the great post Wizzard.

If ya do it out in the forest you may want to make some kind of cage around it so small animals don't eat it rabbits come to mind they will eat the stalk. Try one or two and let me know how they do.
