Seniors are the highest percentage of voters.
The 70's saw some changes only cause the Youth, Minorities of this country, and especially Women started to get out to March and vote. Some violence happened as I recall.

Why do you assume the only choices may be Paul, Bachman, or Palin? If elected officials no longer have as their 1st consideration "How will this decision affect my re-election?" They actually might think "What's the right thing to do?" It's a rather simple concept.

Government is a large series of processes that operate on automatic most of the time, with intermittant guidance from Congress. Re-electing everyone to a single term will have the effect of handing power over to the Staff, since they'd be the only group left with institutional knowledge of how the systems work.

Let's see what programs that the new Leaders in Congress will propose to cut, to deal with the budget crisis. When people can talk in generalities, they say quite a bit. But trying to get details out of this group is difficult.
