High Times did a report on the sulpher bulbs, said NASA was experimenting with them. The way they made it sound, it was going to be the perfect bulb. They used to sell them here in Vancouver at Pacific Northwest Garden Supply on Hastings. Haven't been there in quite a while though.

I heard about a 2inch LED that will emit over 200,000 lumens. I'd like to see that at work.

I read most of this thread, it's funny when people get angered on a forum with strangers. lol

Sweeeet!
Thanks for posting the links for this, it is lighting technology I have not heard of....please please let me know if anyone gets one of these going, and I apologize if someone did and I missed it...was just too excited wink

This is just the start, if other lighting companies are looking into this, they could easily improve what is already in existence...And another step closer to perfect lighting...?

"Pacific Northwest Garden Supply on Hastings" you say Spuzzum ...in Vancouver???

yeah, it would be crazy to see that 200w diode in effect. if only they could get it to run for more than five minutes without it burning out. that is one expensive diode. i believe i read that article in Maximum Yield.

i dont see plasma taking over. sodium bulbs give off 120-140 lumens per watt. plasma gives off 140 lumens per watt. there is still the unused spectrums that the plants dont need. i do believe that LEDs are going to take over the horticultural lighting market. now its just the waiting game...........
