Oh yah, there is also lots of stuff on my website as well, but most of its not really formatted very academically, its from pot magazines, and they usually ask me to water it down, or else edit it and simplify beyone my liking, which is always a pisser!

well, the initial response from you and AI, kind of invoked that aspect of my personality a little, but, after years of net-flack, I'm a little quick on the draw.

That would be fear. To me that is understandable and even somewhat expected. By working through fear one can come to a deeper level of understanding ... one might even say that it improves health or has healing power. Ah yes, the healing powers of hell, LOL.

However, like all powers (at least all the powers that i'm aware of) they can be used create / heal as well as destroy / kill. Power can be used for good or bad ... but I will leave the discussion on The 'real' difference between good and bad? for a different thread.

Anyway, what you perceive as "picking nitts" or "nitt picking" ... I perceive as "attention to detail".

The sad problem with physics is to be able to understand the reasoning and calculation behind anything more complicated than a block sliding down a ramp you need very abstracted mathematical constructs.

The "rubber mat" description of general relativity does a good job of giving people the idea but even then it doesn't exactly make it obvious how things like time dilation come into the picture.

Electricity and magnetism, even the classical version, is almost entirely based around very abstract systems of vector fields which require a someone to be very comfortable with calculus even just to get a qualitative understanding.

Then quantum mech, the foundation of 20th century physics, is entirely mathematical. There is not a good analogy for quantum mechanics (that I have ever heard) and it in fact goes so coarsely against the grain of intuition most people don't believe it. But it isn't some conjecture, it is an unavoidable empirical fact which was best modeled by a complex (as in imaginary numbers) periodic statistical function (or "wave" function). Beyond the math which describes observation, there is very little to be "understood" about quantum mechanics.

This year I'm only actually taking one physics course, the rest is advanced math courses. It pains me when a subject is so inaccessible because of the language it is in. I am very interested in education and communication and the maths make that end of things hard (I like the math, but the eyes start rolling whenever I try to explain anything).

I've looked into the formulas of how lumens and candela are actually calculated ... I didn't get very far before my eyes started rolling.

I also realize that the more subjective the subject matter is the more abstracted and subjective the mathematical constructs become. However, when doing a comparison between two different things there must be some sort of scale. This scale might be very abstract, subjective even wackadoodle but without any scale the comparison has no weight. Even the legal community uses the scale to represent justice.

I'm pretty sure that pharmaceutical companies have a way of demonstrating / measuring the "healing power" or "medical effectiveness" of a new drug before it can approved by the FDA (that's what we have in the USA ... not sure what the Canadian equivalent is).

Fear? LMAO, More like irritation with anonymous forum posters, who are trying to look smart.

well you sure missed the details out there on medical marijuana, didn't you?

I don't think there is a way of measuring "healing power" as it is such a broad term, beyond proven medical effectiveness. cannabis has well established medical effectiveness, prayer has claims and speculation on its medical effectiveness, no comparison.
