Um, just exactly what documentation behind the healing powers of cannabis are you talking about?

If you want to discredit my "evidence" or "facts" then you should have done a better job defining the "qualifiers" while you had the chance. I love how you like to jump to conclusions before you even setup your methods and procedures. Now that's what I call good solid science, LOL blah

I suppose if I have a point it would be ... um, spaceman is taking a knee??

'Methods and Procedure'? 'Good solid science?' well I'll be, I guess the academic standards on the CC forums have really stepped up a little blah
Well Mr.'method and scientific procedure' I figured since you have been posting on a weed forum for 7 years you would be at least smart enough to be familiar with medical cannabis, as so many news stories have been posted about it.... But I can see in your case that was an over assumption on my part, a BIG over assumption.(but really, that says so much more about you, than it does about me - and don't ask for the method and procedure on that conclusion). So here you go, read and learn...

then there are the neuroprotectant properties that are being looked at for alzhiemers and brain injuries,
http://www.news-medical.net/news/2008/03/11/36068.aspx

and I am sure that even a less educated pot user like you is familiar with cannabis' use as appetite enhancer, nausea medicine, pain medicine, for glaucoma, and all sorts of other things..... Even the US Government is hip to it, they have a patent that is holding up other research

US Patent 6630507 - Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants
Abstract - Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cannabinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (I) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, and COCH3. ##STR1##

The problem with telling people to "look it up" - particularly in a subject of research which is still very much on-going - is that they may not find the same source you saw. Especially considering many of the studies conflict. I have personally read published papers which showed very strongly that cannabis reduced the spread of cancer while others indicated no such effect. Both were very credible studies. That's why it is far more helpful to be pointed to the exact source in question.

Also, since when are news paper articles and you tube videos considered citable sources? I know professors who would give you an "F" if you handed in a history/philosophy paper citing a news article, they wouldn't even read it.

***

Now I know how silly it seems demanding sources in a forum like this. But considering the weight of the claims, and adding to that the fact that you have written several books on the topic, I don't think it is that much to ask.

What are the sources you referenced in your books? You've written the book so I would assume the sources shouldn't be TOO hard to remember. Unless you went to India and dug up artifacts yourself, you should have a source for ever word you publish on the topic.

***

As for "getting educated", may I ask what your education is?

P.S. I would love to provide you with sources except that everything I have said has just been my opinion, and I often explicitly indicated that. So since its an opinion, I guess I can just cite myself. grin

"Also, since when are news paper articles and you tube videos considered citable sources? I know professors who would give you an "F" if you handed in a history/philosophy paper citing a news article, they wouldn't even read it."

You mean the youtube interview with Dr. Tashkin? yes that is not very credible the words of the foremost pulminary expert.... LMAO.
And we are on a forum, not at university Mr. smarty poop. The news articles give you the reports anmes they refer to, do your own friggin research, I'm not obligated to do it for you.

"I have personally read published papers which showed very strongly that cannabis reduced the spread of cancer while others indicated no such effect. Both were very credible studies."

Oh really, and where are your sources? always ask, never give. Live by your own standard.

Well I was just stating my opinion as well, that is why you asked me for sources.... but then you don't have any to back up yours, and you have still failed to arrive at what your particular request for a source was, regarding what I have written in this thread.....

I have a grade 11 education :), I was referring to reading up in my statement on educating yourself, as can be seen by the context of the statement, but I guess that flew right over your head

No that is not true, I think I may have made a mistake in writing that once on some forum post, mistakenly reversing it, but intending to put it the proper way, as in "Hebrew is read left to right as oppossed to english which is right to left" in some long lost post, a on the spot writing mistake, but I have been well aware that Hebrew is read from right to left for 20 years. I don't however claim to be an expert in Hebrew, I know the alphabet, but I generally rely on a Strong's Exhaustive concordance for translations, and my co-author on my book in the Bible, holds a degree in Hebrew, as well, much of the material has been gone over by Prof. Ruck, who also holds a degree in Hebrew.. I have a poster that I did 20 years ago which was printed a number of times, and it has Hebrew on it, and there a number of Hebrew references in both my books, all correct.

Is it true you used to be a gerbil?

Btw, if you want to review the most complete piece online about the Hebraic references to cannabis, look here, and the sources should all be in the above bibliography.

Well, that's the only way I know you to do a proper comparison of power. I'm guessing that you haven't seen my thread on What it takes for LED equal output = to 600w HID where I compare the luminous power of LED's to the luminous power of HPS HID. However, you may have seen my thread Facts bout real truth- split the hair of knowledge but I'm guessing that's something you don't get.

Yea, I've been trying to get the CC forums to "really stepped up" for the last 7 years and you seem to want to drag it back into the dark ages.

Anyway, I'm really not that concerned with what has more power. I usually leave that to the rednecks that like to talk about there trucks. My interest in power is what can I gain from it and how can I use it. You can say "X has more power than Y" and I would say "yea, well i know how to use both X and Y"

Oh ... and it's not hip hop ... it's nerd rap blah
