At least. Two 1kw lamps would be better, imo. General coverage guidelines: 250w - 2.5ft x 2.5ft 400w - 3ft x 3ft 600w - 3.5ft x 3.5ft 1kw - 4ft x 4ft As far as the electricity goes, pay the bill in full and on time every time. Having a partner adds to the complexity of the grow...the largest majority of grow busts occur because someone says something to someone else, not the electricity usage.

Word. Friend got busted with what the cops called a million dollar operation because his power was switched off for some 6 months. Power company suspected he was stealing electric. He wasn't, he had an extension to a neighbour, but regardless the guy they sent reported to police his suspicions. Moral: keep paying electric bill on time no matter what.

also you should pick up a book or some books from professionals and do allot of reading.
Marijuana Horticulture the Indoor/Outdoor Growers Bible from Jorge Cervantes
He also has the Ultimate Grow DVD series 1-3
The Marijuana Growers Handbook V2 by Ed Rosenthal
If your new to growing do your homework, just about everything you need to know is in these books. Many of us here have read these and more, some things we like to do differently because we have experimented and we do what works for us but you should have this base knowledge before you start experimenting.
and like all books and dvds you can find online copies at no cost to you but if you like paper books go to amazon and buy one they are pretty cheap. I have already watched the ultimate grow series, well the 1st 2 parts anyway...absolute goldust!! So these two books are the best to get u reckon? ill order them soon...

How many plants in what size pots do u think ill get in this space?? 2 1kw lamps will defo keep me up at night....no one will no about this grow except me, my partner and all of you... im sure a dramatic change in electricity usage attracts attention tho no? Im located in UK btw where houses are generally smaller and closer together... but the growroom will be in an apartment block. Wish i was an electrician so i could change the output readings and have all the lights i wanted!

...his power was switched off for some 6 months....Power company suspected he was stealing electric. He wasn't, he had an extension to a neighbour, but regardless the guy they sent reported to police his suspicions. How is that not theft? Wish i was an electrician so i could change the output readings and have all the lights i wanted! Also theft. Better than 90% of all thieves end up in jail at some point. Growing weed illegally is enough risk to assume. Having a partner compounds the risk, don't add theft to it. 2 1kw lamps will defo keep me up at night Unless you're prepared to cut holes in drywall and repair them later, the door to the room will need to stay open for ventilation. Even if you decide to go with a 400w lamp, it'll keep you up. 50,000 lumens is friggin bright. but the growroom will be in an apartment block. You'd better invest in a carbon filter. Who pays the electricity, you or the apt owners? If you're growing to support yourself, you can do quite well with a 3x3ft space and a 400w lamp. I start 10 seeds, and thin to the best 4 - 6 females to flower.
