I was hoping you all could help me, i am planning to start an indoor grow soon and was researching the different strains i could use. I hear mango is a good yielder and is also good to grow for beginners...

Maybe some of you pros could give me some advice:

What is the highest yield indoor strain?

What is the highest yield indoor strain in relativity to potency and quality?

What are the best strains to grow for beginners?

Finally, which are the best seed companies to buy these seeds from??

I really will appreciate any feedback.. Thanks

When your growing indoors yield is mainly based on your lighting. If you have not grown before I would not worry too much about your yield. Focus on a good setup and the appropriate lighting.

One of the best strains of all time and is a very good strain for a newbie is Northern Lights #5 also known as NL#5. It produces very good yield wise, is very fert tolerant, mold resistant and produces very potent buds.

There are many good seed breeders you just need to do some research. Before you spend a couple hundred bucks for 10 seeds you should get yourself some cheaper strains and give it a go that way you can learn and learn the ropes. It would be quite a waste to spend all that money and you end up killing the plants.

Here is a good company to start with, they only breed a handful of strains that are very good but their packs of seeds are pretty cheap compared to others. Most of their strains are crosses of Northern Lights

I will be working with someone who has grown before but with limited experience. what kind of yield do u expect on average from NL#5 per plant? Thanks for the info tho 'Thc'.

Anyone with any mango experience??

I was going to message u last night resinfarmer, i joined the forums last night and came across the name the strain topic, i instantly thought of 'devils island' but quickly realised u had already won with the same name!!! I thought dayyym he must be smokin the same shit as meee!! but then i thought it was pointless messagin u to explain all of that seein as i was high as hell off some good cheese, a bit of ak and u had already won anyway!!! But then u post on my first topic..fate..u smokin cheese!?!?!?

Like I stated yield is all relative to your lighting the amount of watts your using. It isn't gonna matter really what strain your growing unless your investing in good lighting.

For example say your growing NL#5 under a bunch of cfl's, well you will be lucky to get a few ounces from the plant. The same strain grown under 2-3 1000W Metal hylide lamps and then flowered under High pressure sodium can produce 1/2 pound to over a pound per plant.

To give a ruff estimate and I mean ruff you need to state what type of lighting your going to be using. Even the seed breeders that give an amount of bud per meter squared for a strain are usually way higher than you actually will produce. The amount they list is the plant grown under really good lighting and under the best conditions.

1. Top44 was a big producer, but I haven't seen it around since 06. Skunk #1 is also a good producer.

2. As THC said, NL #5, or just plain NL. Skunk #1 is a good producer, and potent. Master Kush is also a really good producer of potent chunky buds.

3. The absolute idiot-proof strain for beginners is Master Kush, Skunk#1, and Northern Lights.

4. I haven't used PEAK Seeds, but I hear good things. Having said that, I have never gone wrong with Doc Chronic. Good potent strains, at a reasonable price.

Hmmm ok, I will post a new thread with all the exact specs of my grow closer to the time for a detailed shopping list, but for now i know the dimensions will approx be 7 x 7 x 7 ft. We will be using soil pots but lighting has been quite a debate as we are not sure how much electricity we can get away with using without drawing attention from the federales! I think two 600w would be ideal but my partner thinks this is too much for the space and electric... What do u all think? Take into account we want to grow as much as we can with the space provided, organically!

We were planning on growing the majority of plants on whatever we decide as best yielder and then maybe a few other plants just for personal pleasure...i was thinking an arjans strawberry haze maybe then a few others..is this a toughy?

Thanks again for the input guys, master kush, NL#5 and skunk#1 all looking like winners at the moment!! I know there's some mango growers out there with some wise words...

nL#5, Smells like coffey taste like caramel my fave strain of all time.

blueberry

hash plant or hp hybrids, hp x hawaiian is awesome!!

afghan or afghan hybrids such as white rhino or skunk strains.

my real advise to you is to just do it.. as with anything takes years to get good and if you have the ability to leanrn and addapt to problems you will do good.

also you should pick up a book or some books from professionals and do allot of reading.

Marijuana Horticulture the Indoor/Outdoor Growers Bible from Jorge Cervantes

He also has the Ultimate Grow DVD series 1-3

The Marijuana Growers Handbook V2 by Ed Rosenthal

If your new to growing do your homework, just about everything you need to know is in these books. Many of us here have read these and more, some things we like to do differently because we have experimented and we do what works for us but you should have this base knowledge before you start experimenting.

and like all books and dvds you can find online copies at no cost to you but if you like paper books go to amazon and buy one they are pretty cheap.
