An Aussie University (UNE) had a good web page on home tissue culture, complete with a home-brew medium recipe (which included coconut milk). Sadly, it disappeared form the web before I could snip it. The basics were the medium, a still air cabinet and Mason jars. There was nothing in their technique that required specialized equipment (IIRC), which is why I was pissed when the page disappeared. They have older pages on their site, so one has to wonder why this particular page pulled a Jimmy Hoffa. Bugger. I looked through this site, and they have some cool stuff...

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'd like to pose a question to the group. Does anyone out there know what the plant specific recipe for the agar mix used to put a cannabis cutting into in-vetro microculture is? I would like to know the amount of the hormones in each type of culture, shoot developement and rooting phase. The ammount of finished medium is to be 1 liter. Any help would be appreciated. I know I'll get some help here,so thanks in advance. Hi Old Man I have quite a bit of experience with in-vitro tissue culture propagation, as it is something I am involved with in my career. The growth media is actually not your biggest problem: you have to ensure everything is sterile..not clean, sterile. I work in a bio-safety cabinet, which has controlled air flow (and a number of other features) designed to create a relatively sterile working environment. Forceps, scalpels, tubes, and in particular your plant cuttings must be completely bacteria/fungi and virus free. There are a number of methods used to surface-sterize plants to introduce into T.C., which I can explain later if you wish. Producing the correct growth agar/media requires an autoclave, the proper glassware and filtered caps...it's far from simple The high overhead involved in setting up a home tissue culture lab makes this process pretty much impossible to set up. Cloning and seed production are far simpler, cheaper, and reliable. I hope this helps.
