T5HO bro.. i see that you have vented LEDs units? is that for heat and such.. i didnt think LEDs got really hot? is it comparable to HID?

my unit is still reading about 277 watts. Seems to be the same as when the three fans were connected – now all three are disconnected

the fans are designed to remove the heat away from the heat sinks and power supply. You can feel a warm breeze come out of the light with it operating as originally designed and during a heat spell the warm breeze is a little much when you are fighting to keep your room and res cool.

Is it comparable to HID? hummm,,,, well you can't grab hold of an HID lamp when lit and my hid ballasts have fans in them but I've seen others without (electronically speaking of course, not magnetic). not as much heat, although I do not have a 1000 watt led , yet, but I will say considerably less. neglible in the winter,. but a tad too much in the summer
