How do you go about flushing these?

Poor RO until it overflows the drain hole.

Okay, do you use 3 times the volume of the bucket? Seems that would be extremely long.

I havent used hempy buckets (mostly because I dont have the space... I.e. I can only fit 6-7 3 gal. buckets in my closet... and if only half of those are girls I'd be pissed at only having three plants), but the idea here is that the soilless media doesn't retain salst and such... it's more a means to simply support the plant physically. all of the nutrition comes from the water at the bottom of the resevoir, therefore there is no need for "flushing". hope this helps. PS- any way we could "dual-post" this thread? I think it would be very helpfull to put in the general growing or new growers primer boards, since it is kind of a hybrid between soil and hydro...

Ok this thread hasnt been updated in a while so here goes my 2 cents. These plants have been flowering for 4 1/2 weeks. Perlite was kinda expensive at the time so I went 2 to 1 perlite/verm.

I did purchase a ro system while these guys were in veg state but I have plumbing issue and is not istalled yet and they are getting tap water that averages 190 - 220 out of the tap.

I use a 600 watt hps and I am using Earls rule on PPM's Right now they are getting 500 ppm I am using about a cap ful on cal mag plus per gallon and GH powder nutes. I have never grown sticking icky buds and i beleive its cause of the tap water and to much nutes (thanks Earl for the info) right now I think the plants look pretty good, I am a little worried about the yellowing but I guess its about that time. The stems did get purple early on, but this time it just might be the strain (Nirvana bubblicous) I didnt drill a hole in the side bottom either, but I am using the "see how much it weighs" before adding any water. I dont like waiting until it wilts cause to me thats to close to cell damage.

Like I said i have never growing dense sticky buds yet, And on these plants I have never had such big pistles so I think thats good news.

here are some pics, one planter has 2 plants, I actually put 3 in each planter but there were males.

Doubling up plants like that is a bad idea.

Either:
the two will fight, one will win, one will die
the two will fight, both will be stunted

Otherwise, they're lookin' good.

OK
So, what do you do if you are running Hempy Buckets and go out of town for 4 days???

I was going to go with the Ebb & Grow system in my Tents BUT Hempy sounds like a GREAT option although that is the one concern I have....

What am I gonna do when I go away for a 4 day Vegas weekend for my bachelor party???

Water the hell out of them just before you leave,
turn the lights down a notch or so,
and hope you get back in time.

Use more vermiculite than originally posted. I am watering once a week and they are 2 weeks from harvest. In the beginning I went almost 3 weeks between watering.

I don't have a hole in the side either

Hmmm it is funny
I keep going back and forth from

Soil, soilless mix or hempy buckets.

I am very tempted to go the hempy route but is running CO2 overkill for a hempy set up? I have a 4X8 with 2 1000Watters in there.

Im thinking Id likely run 15 in the tent.

I was planning on bending quite a bit BUT I do not imagine you could really do that with Hempy as it does not seem the medium would be packed tight enough or heavy enough to bend the plant.

Any suggestions for a large reasonable tray I could put at the bottom of this tent to collect the run off till I grab the shop vak to suck it up?
