Cali I was very tempted in buying 2 all blue ones for veg but unexpected bills so I had to go with a T5 but I wanted LED bad. You think 2 panels could veg up to 9-12 inches?

i picked up a 7w white LED spot. i am going to aim it over one of the plants and see how much it helps w/ the flowers. you can find these spots anywhere. i got mine at Home Depot, but Wal-Mart also carries them. its blinding when you look straight on, im still seeing three green spots in my vision. hehehe

i havent solely grown with the panels, so i cant say. keep an eye on T5HO's thread, things are looking good so far.

3 weeks into flower. they are doing far better than the one under the 1000w.

It looks good. How does the light penetrate compared to your 1000w?
I know the potential for LED is so much greater than current technology, therefore I must wait. But I am anxious to lower my electricty bill and temperatures!

penetration is excellent directly under the LEDs. i would say almost as great as the 1000w. the higher the wattage of the diode, the better penetration you will get.

it usually takes until the 4th week for the undersides of the leaves to start turning purple. its only the beginning of the 3rd week and they are turning purple real quick. the big fan leaves are the last to turn, but they are darkening just as quick as the top leaves. the lack of heat from this light is really helping out. i cant wait to see how dark the finished product will be. these girls are getting perfect temps ranging from 72-74F.
the rams horn (leaves curling under) that you see in the pics is caused by the Bushmaster. i have heard horror stories about people killing their plants with it, but you just have to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. more is never better, and that goes for EVERYTHING, not just boosters. i have been using these products for 4 years and i have never hurt my plants due to an overload.

4 week update.

this is where it begins. from this point on we will see how well this LED unit can produce heavy flowers. here are the pics.
