"And I will raise up for them a plant of renown,
and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land,
neither bear the shame of the heathen any more."

~ Ezekiel 34:29

Redding Charity Turns Down Pot Dispensary's Food
US CA: Record Searchlight (Redding, CA) 06 Nov 2009

A Christian ministry that feeds homeless people in Shasta County is saying "no thanks" to an offer of free food from a medical marijuana collective, much to the chagrin of its co-owner.

"It doesn't make any sense to me," said Joe Munday, who, with his wife, Gina, owns The Green Heart medical marijuana collectives and dispensaries in Anderson, Shasta Lake and Mount Shasta. "Everybody I've told so far about this thinks it's absolutely ridiculous."

Munday, who said his three businesses have been holding food drives for about the past month, called Redding Loaves and Fishes on Wednesday after seeing that organization's TV commercials seeking donations.

He said he eventually spoke on the telephone to a man named Chris, who originally seemed receptive to his offer of the free food.

But, he said, that man called back about 30 minutes later and turned it down.

"He said, 'My pastor and I have been praying on this, and we don't want to accept your food,' " Munday said. continued...

Blasphemy

"In the later times,
some shall speak lies in hypocrisy
commanding to abstain from meats
which God hath created to be
received with thanksgiving of them
which believe and know the truth."

The psychedelic secrets of Santa Claus
by Dana Larsen (18 Dec, 2003)

Modern Christmas traditions are based on ancient mushroom-using shamans.

Although most people see Christmas as a Christian holiday, most of the symbols and icons we associate with Christmas celebrations are actually derived from the shamanistic traditions of the tribal peoples of pre-Christian Northern Europe.

The sacred mushroom of these people was the red and white amanita muscaria mushroom, also known as "fly agaric." These mushrooms are now commonly seen in books of fairy tales, and are usually associated with magic and fairies. This is because they contain potent hallucinogenic compounds, and were used by ancient peoples for insight and transcendental experiences. continued...

"This would be the best of all possible worlds,
if there were no religion in it."

-- John Adams, in a letter to Thomas Jefferson

Should charities screen their donors and reject aid from inappropriate sources?

Yes. If a shady business is trying to polish its reputation, non-profits shouldn't help them do it.

Maybe, but it makes so sense to turn down donations from a legal medical-marijuana operation trying to be a good neighbor.

No. The poor need all the help they can get.

That quote out of context bugs me. I agree with what it says, but it's out of context of what the quoted person was saying.

* Twenty times in the course of my late reading have I been on the point of breaking out, "This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!!!" But in this exclamation I would have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean Hell.
o Letter to Thomas Jefferson (April 19, 1817)

Thanks, thats the way I got it but I'll use yours. Not that it changes anything. None were Christians.
and religion is a tool of the Fascists along with the media and censored school books.

Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear.... Do not be frightened from this inquiry from any fear of its consequences. If it ends in the belief that there is no God, you will find incitements to virtue in the comfort and pleasantness you feel in its exercise...
-- Thomas Jefferson, in a 1787 letter to his nephew

If a ruler
"Hearkens" to Lies
all his servants are wicked.
-- Prov:29:12

I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to Heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all.
--Thomas Jefferson

I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature. In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus by the Supreme Being as his father, in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter.
-- Thomas Jefferson, 1814 - 1823

The United States is in no way founded upon the Christian religion.
-- George Washington & John Adams, in a diplomatic message to Malta.

The Bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma.
