Ok, I know im a new member that hasnt built up a reputation here yet, but I want to ask this question. I will leave it as general as I can and not point any fingers.

An order was places with a MOM which will remain unnamed approx 5 weeks ago. According to the tracking number the money was received several days after being sent. Approx 2 weeks went by without hearing from them on a tracking number (patience was exercised), eventually out of curiosity as to status the order was inquired about as to tracking number. Another week went by hearing nothing, then an email was received saying that several of their orders had been seized at the post office and that orders would be reshipped within a few weeks. Another week elapsed and another email was received with a tracking number stating the order was reshipped. Since that time another week has gone by, and the supplied tracking number does not show up on the tracking system (usually takes a day, two tops to show up)

The concern is do the LEOs "flag" addresses once they make a seizure and watch future mail going there? One would assume that if the order was accepted into the postal system it would be scanned and show up in the system and if it were seized it wouldnt show up.

There has been no contact by the LEO, although a friend had a package intercepted earlier the year, officers showed up at his door, he denied any knowledge, and was told that they "would be watching the mail". Is this a scare tactic?

(the amount seized was fairly small, one ounce, going from BC to Eastern Canada)

Again, I am sorry for making this my first post, but I did not know where to raise this question, not like I can call the postal service and ask if they are watching my mail.

As far as I understand Canadian Postal Law, under 30 grams, the RCMP needs a warrant to examine Mail. Since it's considered "the queen's mail' between the Sender and the Mailee.

I hope that helps.

Just so im clear, the amount sent would not be cause enough for the LEOs to begin monitoring future mail (but if it had been 30+ they would have right to do so)?

Also, would it be safe to assume that the amount seized would be to small for them to consider getting a warrant?

I'd never tell someone they were "safe". Just that there are "limits" on what government can do without involving evidence, warrants, judges and courts. Its still undertaking an illegal enterprise and one should use all due caution plus 10. laugh

For instance :Don't get seeds mailed to the location at which you grow. You know, common sense.

Thank you for the responses. I understand that you cannot give a definite answer on the situation. In your opinion, would you think that the canadian LEOs would not put resources and effort towards warrants and judges for such a small case?
(I do not know how knowledgeable you are on these policies, I guess all im doing is trying to give myself some peace of mind while I wait)

Are you waiting on another package to come to the same address?

Did you get a tracking number for the first package?

And if no tracking number showed up on Canada Post then I would say that the package didn't hit the mail. If there is no way to find information on a tracking number, my guess is that you have been scammed.

Yes, the second package was being sent to the same address, probably not the smartest move, but I had no other mailing address option.

I didnt get a tracking number for the first package, which I thought was a little dodgy (if the first package was seized after being brought to the post office they still should have had a tracking number (I dont know the details of how said seizure went down))

It was from a supposedly reputable MOM company (i'll PM you more detail, I think it would be frowned upon to post the name here)

I will give another update when the package is in hand (away from home and cant get to the post office till tomorrow), but the tracking number now works and is informing me that it is in the mail box.

Hopefully all is well and the package is what is expected.

Although it is not in hand, so I cant confirm yet, I guess that they wernt watching my mail (I doubt the tracking number for that specific package would tell me it was delivered if it were a letter from the LEO saying it was seized)

Thanks for the replies. (I wasnt trying to come off as someone not being patient enough, over 5 weeks went by since ordering and a package was seized, so I think I had legitimate concerns)
