Rabbi Ariel Arrested, Released by Hillel Fendel Follow Israel news on and . (IsraelNN.com) Rabbi Ariel is a member of the seven-man leadership council of the recently-formed "Sanhedrin" in Jerusalem. Today's arrest is connected with the administrative orders forbidding some 20 men of Judea and Samaria from living in their homes for between three and twelve months. Signed on the original orders was an IDF Prosecution officer who lives in one of the Binyamin area communities. [pictured above in 1967 Six-Day War photo, from left to right: Rabbi Ariel, the Nazir Rabbi David Cohen, Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Kook.] The Sanhedrin Rabbinical Court summoned the officer to appear before the court for a Din Torah - a Torah trial - to explain why he issued the orders seemingly in contrast to Torah law. The officer repeatedly refused to show up, and the Court considered taking the measures usually taken in such cases: placing the subject in herem, or excommunicating him. However, in the event, the Court, of which Rabbi Ariel is a leading member, merely sent a letter to the IDF officer's community's secretariat recommending that he not be called up to the Torah until he complies with the Court's order. Rabbi Ariel then underwent a similar experience. The police called him two or three times, informing him that he must show up for questioning on this matter. The rabbi said he would be willing to be questioned, but not at the police station. Finally, five policemen showed up at his door today, with an order for the rabbi's arrest. They took him to the Russian Compound in Jerusalem. "The orders said 'arrest warrant,'" Mrs. Ariel later told Arutz-7, "but the leading investigator who came said that it was really not an arrest warrant." Adding to the confusion, someone who later phoned Rabbi Ariel told this story: "I was able to reach him in the police station. I asked him if he was under arrest, and he said no. Suddenly, I heard someone yelling in the background, 'What are you doing on the phone?! You can't do that, you're under arrest!' And then the phone went dead." Rabbi Ariel was released around three hours after he was arrested. Another member of the Sanhedrin, Professor Hillel Weiss, was recently questioned by police, for five hours, on similar matters. Rabbi Ariel was the head of the Hesder Yeshiva in the Sinai city of Yamit until the city was emptied and destroyed in 1982 in fulfillment of the peace treaty with Egypt. He served in the paratroopers unit that liberated the Old City of Jerusalem and the Western Wall in the Six-Day War of 1967. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/117015 Dream on DML. You`re going to post some shitty map a radical Jewish Rabbi drew up and try to present that shit as official Israeli policy goals? Is there not a limit to the depths of folly you`ll stoop to? Are there anymore lies you want to spread around?

"You`re going to post some shitty map a radical Jewish Rabbi drew up and try to present that shit as official Israeli policy goals?" It happens to be Likud policy ... and Kadimah leaders drop hints about the idea too: More precise geographical borders are given Exodus 23:31 which describes borders as marked by the Red Sea (see debate below), the "Sea of the Philistines" i.e the Mediterranean, and the "River," possibly the Euphrates), the traditional furthest extent of the Kingdom of David, or the Jordan River.[9][10] The Likud party has, in its platform, support to for maintaining Jewish settlement communities in the West Bank and Gaza as the territory is considered part of the historical land of Israel.[45] In 2009, Kadimah leader Tzipi Livni also used this expression. [46] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_Israel#Usage_in_Israeli_politics What you are trying to do is paint Israel with a Hamas or Hezbollah paintbrush. That is not the way Israel`s parliamentary democracy works; they could never have disbanded so many illegal settlements in the West Bank if Judaism ruled Israel entirely. There is simply too much opposition within Israel and abroad to any aspirations of any radical right wing efforts to incorporate Eretz Israel into the current nation of Israel; of course this could easily change if Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria start another war with Israel and lose again. I am certain Israel or any other nation would be obliged to take and hold what was given to them if for no other reason than to use such territory as a buffer zone against future aggression, just as the West Bank is held today to establish a buffer zone against invasions. The only captured territory to date which has been annexed by Israel is the Golan Heights, and it would be a stupid move to give that back to Syria. Arabs chose to fight for the Soviet Union and got betrayed and beaten. So called Palestinians then became pawns of these defeated nations who are still allied with a rag tag blend of Islam, Socialism, communism and Monarchies divided between Sunni and Shiite sects of Islam. The only thing they have in common is hatred of Jews. Above is what was agreed to in 1947. I regret to say that Arab neighbors armies attempts to Destroy the Jews only made them stronger long before 1973 when Nixon listened to the desperate pleas of Golda Meir for military aid; and that because her government chose to ignore the huge buildup of Egyptian forces in Sinai. If you really want to know why Israel`s left, after dominating Israeli politics for most of Israel`s existence has faded somewhat, it is because Israelis do not trust the left to effectively defend their country. Poor Ehud Olmert! The Arabs backstabbed him too. Withdraw from Gaza and get rocketed? Bullshit; land for peace is stupid.

for starters, the best chance for peace is not stealing any more land For which Palestine do you make this asessment? With Hamas and Fatah killing each other. With Sunni and Shiite doing likewise? If Israel evaporated into thin air tonight, do you honestly believe there would be a lasting peace? Let me clue you in on what a majority think about peace with Israel.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ol7EgxFx3o

"...of course this could easily change if Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria start another war with Israel and lose again." Or if Israel conducts another false-flag operation and starts it's own war in order to satisfy the right-wing fundamentalists: In 2003, journalist Peter Hounam wrote Operation Cyanide: How the Bombing of the USS Liberty Nearly Caused World War III, which proposes a completely different theory regarding the incident. In an attempt to explain why there was no support by U.S. forces as backup, Hounam claims that Israel and U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson had secretly agreed on day four of the Six Day War that Liberty would be sunk with complete loss of life. The attack would be blamed on Egypt, allowing the U.S. in turn to attack Egypt, thus helping out Israel. However, according to Hounam's theory, because the Liberty did not sink after two hours, the plan was quickly reversed, Israel apologized for the case of mistaken identity, and a cover-up put into place.[citation needed] The press release for the BBC documentary (2002) states that new recorded and other evidence suggests the attack was a "daring ploy by Israel to fake an Eygptian attack" to give America a reason to enter the war against Egypt. Convinced that that attack was real, President of the United States Lyndon B. Johnson launched nuclear-armed planes targeted against Cairo from a US aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. The planes were recalled only just in time, when it was clear the Liberty had not sunk and that Israel had carried out the attack. The main source for this information, Ennes, later stated that he was probably wrong in his original book. According to him it were not nuclear-armed planes, but most likely Bullpup missiles. [64] The video also provides evidence of a covert alliance of US and Israel intelligence agencies.[65] Admiral T. Moorer, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a critic of the official United States Government version of events, chaired a non-governmental investigation into the attack on the USS Liberty in 2003. The committee, which included former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia James Akins, held Israel to be culpable and suggested several theories for Israel's possible motives, including the desire to bring the US into the Six Day War against Egypt. it's a similar battle to seek israel's peace with arabs...israel returned land to egypt as part of a peace deal...they could do it again to recognize a palestinian state but it is clear that their plan is for the pali territories to be absorbed into greater israel, and the remaining chunks operated like a concentration camp For the West Bank, I liked Benjamin Netanyahu`s suggestion that Jordan take back control and allow it once again to become part of Jordan. For Jordan`s part, that plan was rejected. The problem is that Jordan, who has been at peace with Israel sinc the end of the Six Days War would risk becoming a target for proxies funded by those very nations who failed militarily to overrun Israel. Sure, if this conflict were limited to just Israeli Arab hostilities, there probably would be many more avenues open for a peaceful settlement. This bombing, beheading, executions, genocide and criminal enterprise is not limited to Israel, it`s all over the place. Even my sweet adorable highly educated brother in law who is not only a doctor, but not a committed Muslim hates Jews and Israel; it`s so deeply ingrained in him, it`s best to avoid the subject altogether. Ask Pew... http://pewglobal.org/reports/display.php?ReportID=248 .. ... do you see any trends? For me, the most disturbing trend I see is the very large number of Muslims polled who said that Islam for them plays a larger role in politics. This should come as no surprise to anyone who understands that the Quran is in fact a political as well as a religious book which demands unquestioned obedience to laws and the Prophet(Supreme Leader) with threat of punishment including death. I suppose that if it were possible, the Jews could have become as much of a threat to the world; excepting they are a matriarchal society which never to my knowlege had any ambitions to conquer and convert other peoples to Judaism. For their part, the Jews believe -od himself would one day cause all people of the Earth to worship him on Mount Zion. And the Crusades? That`s what happens when religion leads politics. Pew research, if it is accurate, shows there is more than a possibility that fundamentalist extremism is on the way out again in the Muslim world. Just as the KKK lingered on after the Civil War in the US to fan the flames of racism, their penchant for killing indiscriminately was a big factor leading to their demise; leaving a shadow group to carry on and get their asses beat everytime they show up. It`s going to take Islamic peoples to deal with their own bad acorns. When the Anwar Sadats and Menachem Begins are not killed for signing peace treaties, then perhaps the moderates in Israel and the Muslims of the ME will finally be able to coexist. But, I would not hold my breath; my brother in law comes to mind.
