nice looking plants bro. you need to fight them deer better. the wolf urine doesnt seem to work so adding more doesnt seem to matter. try useing tons of moth balls. cover a 20 foot radius around you grow and use the whole box full. if i cant stand the smell of that shit the deers sensitive nose sure cant. it works for me in my outdoors. i also bought a deer repelant spray that is all organic. made from all kinds of hot peppers, cinnimon and all kinds of stuff that they dont like to taste. i wouldnt spray a budding plant with that though. a sure answer though is fencing.

and for the ants..... this sounds a little far fetched, but i would buy a bunch of ant traps and ant spray.. maybe some sticky strips around the base?

With regard to ants, try grits....they take it back to the "den"...eventually, they all die...just pour around the plants...many times, it will not rid you of them completely; however, it will keep them at bay - all else, as danknug suggested, try making a hot pepper spray consisting of many kinds of HOT peppers or garlic appears to work..hope this helps as i have never had ants chew the stems...this may be another bug or you simply an over infestation...either way, try the grits..peace and pot

Pyrosin - Lol...to be honest the first thing I thought of was to camp out and fillet those deer with a buck knife, rambo styles. Sorry to here you're havin the same sorta luck. I don't blame em though, probably the best snack they've had in a while!

Stonersmurf - I had some ant problems, used a mix of borax and sugar at about 2 tbsp borax to 2 cups sugar, boiled down in a litre of water (same thing those ant traps are made of) and much cheaper. I used the cups they give you to take home dip from a restaurant, you know with the lids. Poke tiny holes in the cups around the rim and snap on lid and place them upside down (lid down) around the plants. But fill them when you get there to avoid a big mess. Seems you have to re-apply every so often but it works.

Danknug - Thanks for the tips! I'll try the moth balls next time I go up and will bring up a home made pepper spray for anything that isn't in flower. Problem I have is I don't have a small enough growing area to contain with fence, my plants are spread out one here, one there, 10 meters plus away from each other. I think next year I will add another 3ft of chicken wire above ground around the pots as it seems that is all they're able to take.

And thanks for the compliments all.

Fuck those deer really butchered her... next year make sure no deer trails nearby or something. Shit!
I've never had a deer problem yet and I'm in Ontario as well. Though I put my plants far from any deer trails, which can be tough as they seem to be everywhere. My plants are 50m from the nearest trail that I found. Plus deer trails are often followed by hunters...

Canuckles, good looking grow! I have just the cure for your deer, My bow! doesn't make a sound and we could have backstrap for dinner at the harvest party!! Woo Hoo!

StonerSmurf, you sure it's ants? never heard of that. are you talking young plants or older ones? you might wrap the base of the stalk with some plastic wrap or aluminum foil if they are eating at ground level see if that stops them.

Try liquid fence. It'll keep the deer, rabbits and just about any other mammal off your plants. Its horrid stuff.

Might keep other humans away too. Seriously, its that bad. It lasts for about two weeks and then you need to re-apply. I have never used in on MJ, but it works on all of the deers favorite foods around our house.

Another good couple of ideas is to go to your local barber and ask him/her to save you a bag full of hair and put this in panty hose and hang them all over around your outdoor garden they will stop coming by because of the smell of the human hair,I have also heard that irish springs bars of soap set around will also help.
