(1976) Acapulco Gold

This clip was made for an incomplete movie that was supposed to come out in 1976 called "Acapulco Gold". Sometime during the production, there were financial difficulties. This is all there is to be seen of the animated feature. Arnie Wong created the nostalgic visual presence to the short animated piece. The song is performed by Rainy Daze. "Acapulco Gold" was the name of their only album in 1967. This is from the John Lamb Film Collection. This short has rarely been seen.

I know it's 1976 and may not qualify as sixties, but the soundtrack music is 1967

How's about identifying evidence of famous people who smoked cannabis in the Sixties?

(1965) Janis Joplin - Mary Jane

"Mary Jane" is a blues song by Janis Joplin.

The song has five verses; the first features the line "when I bring home my hard-earned pay, I spend my money all on Mary Jane".

A live performance of the song, recorded in Francisco 1965 with Dick Oxtot Jazz Band, can be heard on the 1975 compilation album Janis.[1][2][3] The song is also included on the 2007 compilation The Very Best Of Janis Joplin.[4] source

Sure ... if it was the 1960's.

(1969) Sly and the Family Stone - I Want to Take you Higher

"I Want to Take You Higher" is a 1969 song by the soul/rock/funk band Sly & the Family Stone, the b-side to their Top 30 hit Stand!". Unlike most of the other tracks on the Stand! album, "I Want to Take You Higher" is not a message song; instead, it is simply dedicated to music and the feeling one gets from music. Like nearly all of Sly & the Family Stone's songs, Sylvester "Sly Stone" Stewart was credited as the sole songwriter. Source

(1970) Brewer & Shipley - One Toke over the Line

The catchy single, "One Toke Over the Line", peaked at #10, garnering notice from Spiro Agnew for what he saw as its subversiveness. Ironically, the song was performed (by Gail Farrell and Dick Dale) on The Lawrence Welk Show, which billed it a "modern spiritual". [1] The song is notably mentioned in the opening of Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. [2]
