Star Trek Anti-Hard Drug PSA

It's interesting how Spock only finds the need for Hard Drugs illogical. I'm dating this as most likely a late Sixties ad airing during The Original Series' first run...

October 31, 1964 Jazz musician Ray Charles is busted in a Boston airport for carrying marijuana, heroin and a syringe in his overcoat; he later takes a year off touring to check into a sanatorium, to kick his drug habit. Source

(1966) Ray Charles - Let's Go Get Stoned.

Let's Go Get Stoned" is a 1966 number-one R&B hit recorded by music legend Ray Charles,[1]. and was written by Ashford & Simpson and Joey Armstead. The single was released shortly after Charles was released from rehab after a sixteen-year heroin addiction. It's notable for it being one of Ashford & Simpson's first successful compositions together, the duo also penned Charles' "I Don't Need No Doctor" before they signed with Motown Records working primarily on duets for Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell.Source

(1970) Hanna-Barbara - Anti-Drug Commercial

Can't find a good source for that date... I wonder if there's a list of all of Hanna Barbara's works somewhere.

(2009) Taking Woodstock

Awesome film, highly recommended watch.

Taking Woodstock is a 2009 American comedy-drama film about the Woodstock Festival of 1969, directed by Ang Lee. The screenplay by James Schamus is based on the memoir Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life by Elliot Tiber and Tom Monte.[1]

The film premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival,[2] and opened in New York and Los Angeles on August 26, 2009, before its wide theatrical release two days later.Source

(2003) The Weather Underground

There is some mention of drugs though the film is mostly not drug related.

I would like to take this time to discredit the tactics of the Weather Underground. The use of violence is never justified and only begets more violence. There are more effective and ethical tactics available to the oppressed to achieve social change. Read about Martin Luther King Jr. and Non-Violence.

People who support marijuana prohibition have a form of hate in their hearts for potheads. This hate shares the same space as racism, culturalism and sexism. Such hatred is learned, it is taught by people who hate and want others to hate too.

People didn't hate marijuana users until the government started pushing hate during the Thirties, the Sixties, the Eighties, and in Canada more than ever since 2005. The Nazi's are possibly the most well known hate pushers, passing laws and propagandizing against people who didn't fit in their concept of an ideal society.

The Sixties was a very special time in history when practically the whole world started demanding equality and justice. Stephen Harper is fighting a battle against a liberal Sixties Culture, a group of people who dared to stand up and ask for the injustice to stop, shame on him.

The Conservative and Liberal governments are actively pushing for prohibition, and are trying to wipe out an entire culture from their society. Please don't let the culture die and help end prohibition.

I am Canadian, and I am Multi-Cultural...

I would like to dedicate this thread to David Malmo-Levine, who was willing to give up his freedom so we could one day have ours.
