Pot now gives me a bad headache and chills.

Hello all, I'm new here. As the title indicates, I was hoping to find answers regarding bad reactions to pot. I have not yet done a full research of past posts. Perhaps one of you can point me to the best of the relevant threads.
I did not see a subject category for health issues. And when I search "headache" I get people claiming that pot cures their headaches.
In my case it is the opposite: pot causes headaches. Bad ones that last for hours, along with chills and loss of appetite. I'm actually fine with the loss of appetite, but what is up with the rest?
I used to smoke regularly and not have such problems. I'm 34. I've probably been smoking on a more regular basis since around the age of 26 (when I moved to BC go figure). And by regular I am only talking about 2-3 times/week. I've had these problems for about 2 years now. My eyes get VERY RED, much more than most people.
Is this a sign of circulatory problems? I think my grandfather was hypoglycemic. I've certainly always had a sweet tooth, and a family history of heart attacks.
Is my body rejecting it? Or do I have health problems that once cured will make pot good again?
I blamed "unnatural pot", so I tried to get organic stuff, grown outdoors, tried the vaporizer, always the low tolerance with bad side-effects. I think maybe the strain is the issue. All this genetic manipulation to make it stronger and grow faster, can't be good for the quality.
I would need a much gentler pot, or perhaps to jog every day.
Any suggestions?

It might be your method of smoking? I find that sometimes if I smoke steamrollers or similar devices it gets me very high very quickly but later it leaves me with quite the debilitating headache. I don't know anything about being allergic to it but I guess that's always a possibility. I would say you are having a problem with the smoke but you said you tried vaping and it didn't work. Whenever you inhale smoke it raises your blood pressure which could be the cause of your red eyes and terrible headache. Hope I could help.

What's this about brain tumors???
When I tried the volcano vaporizer I got really high. I think my friend's stuff was really potent. I don't remember as much of a headache. But it wasn't totally absent either. Also, I remember making brownies and getting perhaps the most giddy, happy highs I'd ever had, from the batter before cooking it. Again, less of a headache, but not totally absent. I met a guy on the drive who insisted on the importance of NOT cooking it or smoking it. Something about degrading the THC. He may have been a raw vegan. From my brownie batter experience, I believe him.
Anyway, whether my brain or circular system, or allergies, I don't know how I could possibly explain this to a GP. I have found that those doctors tend to be the gatekeepers who bar the way to specialists.
I do miss smoking. It was a great way to relax and to pass time in chairlifts.
I have found another thread in which several people talk of getting cold or having the chills, and yes they talk of dilating blood vessels, and decreased blood pressure being the explanation. That's all it offers though.
I am willing to quit weed if I have to (I still try it once in a while), but I'm still hoping to find answers. Is there another bigger forum where I might find more people who have the same problem? Or perhaps I could repost this in the medicinal thread, it seems to be the only health related thread. That and the thread called Drug Use Problems.
Anyways, thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it.

Hi Vancouver, FYI, I am a medical user that also get headaches. I have had a CT scan, etc and the Dr said that the THC receptors (our brains have specific receptors just for THC) get flooded and can almost "overwhelmed" for lack of better term. He suggested using smaller amounts more frequently, ie: 1 little vape hit vs a big lung full or edible, small amounts more frequently till the desired effect is achieved. For the most part it works. The best method I have found is to grind good quality organic buds and cook them in cream, heating the cream till it is just below the scalding temp. I then simmer for about 30 minutes and season as desired. Cool and dilute with milk. This is a version of a recipe found in The Cannabis Cookbook. I hope this helps.
