i tried to veg my widow cindy mommas with panels, but they started to show some necrosis. they were pretty big plants, and i only had about 100w of led. you could definitly get decent veg with a high power unit. the higher the wattage of the diode, the better light your plants will receive. i say 1w or more per diode. veg is no problem. but heavy fruits and flowers is another story.

all of the units use small leds... what about the large ones used at http://www.ledgrow.eu/

he used small 1 watt led lights for his first grow but in the end he was using large 5 watt leds. seems like you would get alot more penetration with the 5 watts. im going to look around online and build something similar with larger leds.

I cant share my experiences w/LED's on here. Whenever I do share my experiences w/any products, Im called a spammer blah blah. I guess we just do R&D and product testing for nothing. We spend the time/money for the sake of end users. People are talking about 5 watt led's etc. We've done full scale tests on 8,000 watts at a time. No point posting results. Feel free to contact us for them so we're not called spammers.

I want LED's to come down in price and increase in lumens, so that I can connect them to my solar panels and batteries and run them "off the grid" he he ...

ok, since I started this thread I guess I need to follow up on it now.

I have completed 5 grows now using led's and have found the following.

I purchased 4 x 50watt red and blue 50/50 lights and have used them for supplemental lighting.

I found that the budz with the led on them tend to be more colorful but no other significant difference.

After 5 grows, I am tossing them out into the smoke room for lighting ambiance out there as I found no measurable benefit of using them.

I know others have had different experience but in my case I have chucked them into the wood pile and wont be using them again.

damn rebel, not what I wanted to hear - have a panel showing up today...
been fighting temps as the season change, and don't want to fight it all summer, so going 90w led instead of 150w hps.

Good to hear from you, haven't seen you around much..............

those diodes dont help out much. they need to be brighter. so far my 250w grow is surpassing my expectations. you need at least 1w per diode. i hope that one day you will give it another go. maybe when prices drop.
