I think the question that you should ask yourself, (that the weedsnobs arent asking either) is that, is that your only plant with which to harvest smoke? Do you have other non hermie, female plants that are in danger of being pollinated of the male flowers mature?
If its your only plant, and its predominately female with only a few male flowers (as some have had the wit to suggest), It would be very much worth, I would think, taking the effort to get rid of as many male flowers as possible, and take experience AND smoke away from it.
Now.. If you are infact growing other girls and they are in danger of pollination, by all means chop it down and turn it into compost, or even tea. I used a bit of my male from last summer and made a bit of tea with it just to try it out, and with a bit of mint and some orange zest it was rather pleasant.
