On October 2, 2007, Bonaduce was in an altercation with former reality-show participant Jonny Fairplay during the FOX Reality Channel Reality Awards. Fairplay was on stage towards the end of the Awards show and being booed by the audience, which seemed to perplex Fairplay. Bonaduce walked on stage and told Fairplay the audience reaction was "because they hate you", and then started walking off the stage without another word.

Fairplay called Bonaduce back and said something to him which the stage microphones did not pick up. Fairplay then lept into Bonaduce's arms, and straddled and humped him, allegedly as a joke - part of Fairplay's shtick.

Bonaduce, who stated that Fairplay's hands near his throat made him uncomfortable, adjusted his balance and his grip on Fairplay and then threw him over his head. This caused Fairplay to hit the stage floor face first.

Bonaduce later stated the two had met occasionally beforehand (and Bonaduce had previously indicated a dislike of Fairplay's character due to the grandmother stunt), but they had never actually fought before. While Bonaduce did not believe Fairplay was significantly hurt at the time, TMZ.com subsequently reported that Fairplay bled significantly, lost some teeth and suffered a broken toe. Fairplay may also have struggled with firefighters and/or medics trying to assist him.

Though Fairplay pressed charges and police have opened a felony battery investigation with Bonaduce as the named suspect, Bonaduce maintains he is innocent and states he was acting in self-defense. Bonaduce also stated he expects to be sued by Fairplay and if so, will counter sue.

The incident has become an internet sensation, being featured on Yahoo.com's website and having thousands of views on YouTube in less than 24 hours.

In 1991, he was arrested for beating up Darius Barney, a transvestite street prostitute. "When I picked him up," Bonaduce later explained, "I thought he was a girl. I picked him up, he got in my car. As soon as he got in and the dome light hit him, it was obvious. He wasn't a good transvestite. If he was a good transvestite, I might never had known. I was wasted. He gets in the car and I said, 'Oh, sorry, wrong car.' And he says, 'Well you took me off my corner, give me $40.00.' I said 'Dude, wrong car, hop out!' This went on for 6 or 7 minutes and he still wouldn't get out. So I get out of the car, opened his door and pulled him out of the car. But when I did, I see he's this huge guy, about 220 pounds. I weighed 150 pounds! I attacked him first, not because I wanted to, I just thought I was going to have to and I'm too small to take the punishment from a 220-pound man. If he had hit first, I would have gone down and stayed down. So I attacked him and it turned into a fight".[7]

French journalist investigated over intelligence leaks

The Committee to Protect Journalists is concerned about a criminal investigation launched by French authorities against Guillaume Dasquié, a reporter for the daily Le Monde, on accusations of publishing state secrets related to the 9/11 hijackings.

Officers from the Directorate of Territorial Security, a counterespionage agency, searched Dasquié’s Paris home on Wednesday. They detained him for 48 hours, during which time he was interrogated and pressured to reveal his sources, according to international news reports. Dasquié faces five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros (US$110,000) under Article 413-11 of France’s penal code if convicted.

“We are troubled by the criminal probe against Guillaume Dasquié and his detention for two days by French security services who pressured him to reveal his sources,” CPJ’s Executive Director Joel Simon said. “Dasquié should not be prosecuted for serving the public’s right to know.”

On Thursday, investigating magistrate Philippe Coirre, who is in charge of the probe, filed preliminary charges against Dasquié. Under French law, the filing of preliminary charges means the investigation has found sufficient evidence to suggest that Dasquié has been involved in a crime, The Associated Press reported.

The probe against Dasquié stems from his April 16 article in Le Monde, titled “September 11: the French had long known,” which said French intelligence services, the General Directorate of External Security (DGSE), had warned their U.S. counterparts of a possible terrorist plot that involved the hijacking of planes and crashing them into buildings some eight months before 9/11, according to international news reports.

The article contained excerpts from a DGSE file titled “Aircraft hijack plan by radical Islamists”—part of a 328-page classified report on al-Qaeda activities, which Le Monde said it possessed. One excerpt from the report, dated January 5, 2001, said al-Qaeda had a list of potential airline targets, which included the United and American Airlines carriers used in the 9/11 attacks, the AP said. Le Monde said the DGSE files in its possession contained maps, analyses, graphics, and satellite photos, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reported.

Riyadh, SAUDI ARABIA (AP) -

Police arrested a group of men planning to attack holy sites around Mecca during the just-completed annual Muslim pilgrimage, the Saudi Interior Ministry said Friday.

"Security forces have foiled a plot to carry out a terror attack on holy sites outside Mecca with the aim of confounding security forces," Interior Ministry spokesman Mansour al-Turki told The Associated Press.

Nearly 3 million pilgrims came to Saudi Arabia for the annual hajj that wound up Friday with a final visit to Mecca after days of performing rituals in the surrounding hills.

"The group was arrested three days before the hajj season," he added, meaning that the men were taken into custody approximately a week earlier.

Al-Turki gave no further details on the number or identity of those arrested, but Saudi-owned satellite television station Al-Arabiya described them as Saudis.

Three weeks before the hajj began, the Saudi government announced a massive security sweep that netted 208 suspects in six different cells who had allegedly plotted to carry out attacks against the kingdom's oil infrastructure.

At the time, a Saudi security official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media, said the large sweep was intended to send a warning to those looking to disturb the hajj and "damage the image of a forgiving Islam."

The official said the arrests included the capture of 18 suspects led by a Yemeni missile expert who allegedly planned to smuggle eight missiles into the kingdom to carry out terrorist operations.

The largest previous sweep by Saudi authorities was announced in April. It netted 172 militants, including pilots allegedly trained to carry out attacks on oil refineries using civilian planes.

The kingdom, which is the birthplace of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, has been waging a heavy crackdown on the group's militants since a 2003 wave of attacks on foreigners here.

The recent arrests indicate that al-Qaida and other Islamic extremists are still actively attempting to destabilize the monarchy, which holds a quarter of the world's proven oil reserves.

Willie Nelson: Twin Towers Were Imploded On 9/11

Straight talking American icon Willie Nelson today told a national radio show that he thought the twin towers were imploded like condemned Las Vegas casino buildings, as the country music superstar forcefully voiced his doubts about the official 9/11 story.

Agreeing with host Alex Jones that he questioned the official story, Nelson elaborated, "I saw those towers fall and I’ve seen an implosion in Las Vegas - there’s too much similarities between the two, and I saw a building fall that didn’t get hit by nothing," added Nelson, referring to WTC Building 7 which collapsed in the late afternoon of September 11.

"How naive are we - what do they think we’ll go for?," asked Nelson, pointing out that his doubts began on the very day of 9/11.

"I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical, I said wait a minute I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas and you see these implosions all the time and the next one fell and I said hell there’s another one - and they’re trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can’t go along with that," said Nelson.

The former Highwayman, fresh from his appearance at this past weekend’s superbowl, questioned why Afghanistan became an immediate target in the aftermath of 9/11 when the official story posited that mostly Saudi Arabians were responsible for the attack.

"When I get hit I like to look around and see who did it before I start swinging at everybody in the room and that’s kind of what we were doing," said Nelson, "We get hit over here and then next thing you know we’re jumping on everybody in the town - so (if) we got hit from Saudi Arabia, I think we’ve got some questions that need to be answered from those folks," said Nelson.

In light of his viewpoint, Nelson said that recent revelations concerning the impartiality of the 9/11 Commission and its close links with the White House did not surprise him.

"What does it take for us to realize we’re having the wool pulled over our eyes one more time?" he concluded.

Nelson is not the first high-profile public figure to question 9/11. In March 2006, actor Charlie Sheen voiced his doubts and was followed last year by his father Martin Sheen.

Aside from celebrities - professors, scientists and other experts the world over have questioned the inconsistencies in the official story, and the topic was most recently even a subject of serious debate in the Japanese Parliament.

In December, former Italian President Francesco Cossiga told Italy’s most respected newspaper, Corriere della Sera, that the attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad and that this was common knowledge amongst global intelligence agencies.

Former German Secretary of Defense Andreas von Bülow also went public in blaming American intelligence for instigating the attack.

Nelson’s country music contemporaries The Dixie Chicks were savaged by the establishment when they criticized the Bush administration shortly before the invasion of Iraq. It remains to be seen whether the corporate media will dare take on Nelson for his views or whether they will just try to ignore the story as happened with Martin Sheen.

Even if they choose to ignore Nelson’s comments, the power of the alternative media should organize now to get this story out.
