Earl, I love those healthy roots , in that 6 " tube! How tall could one grow , in a tube like that?

These were chopped yesterday. They were veged to 16 inches and finished at 35 with a little training to the tops. Nex time I'm starting bloom at 14 inches.

Plants get to 44"-48" in my system , would that be possible in a 6" tube?

As long as you have the space for them to get that tall, there is no reason you could'nt grow em up.

The net pots are pretty snugg in the tube, and once they have roots they are very secure. The roots almost "stick" to the inside of the tube. The roots are very strong.

Amazing...I'm thinking of doing this for a vert grow. Would the pump be powerful enough to pump the water up a few feet?

The first bar is zero feet, and each bar is two feet higher. Kinda hard to read but the 9.5(960gph) pump is the smallest pump on the graph and tops out at 200gph@12feet. The other two pump graphs are for the 1200gph(dark line) and the 1800gph(white line) This flow chart is predicated on 1 1/2" tubing.

This first graphics shows the end cap, and the drain(1/2" bulk head fitting $15each).


I would eliminate the stand pipe and the bulkhead fitting, so the system continuously drained into the rez, instead of holding solution in the pipe.




I like this design, except I would have the rez end of the tubes open inside the rez, and just let them flow.


I would use an external spray sytem so that it is easier to maintain, and to change spray nozzles if necessary.

Thanks Earl, I am definately going to build this. Couple questions. On the plumbing, we are attaching a pump directly to 3/4 PVC then running PVC pipes adjacent to the 6 inch pipes, right? How does the thin black tubing attach into the PVC? By use of the same grommit (sp?) we use to go into the 6 inch PVC? Or do you use a 3 way 3/4 inch PVC T that uses a special attachment? Is that what the picture is showing?
Then your last comment, "I would use an external spray system". External? How can it possibly be outside of the 6 inch pipe? It has to internal??
