yeah im into carpentry so ive used "Great Stuff" and other expandables. the expansion is pretty powerful, so you would have to go with the 'window and door' kind, so as not to distort the plastic. But i think i will just go with what i have for now. later i will get a thicker tub when they are in stock again.
i just installed the basket strainer drain in the bottom of the reservoir. i will then add a 1 1/2" ball valve and have it drain through the floor and out into the garden. i cant let those nutes go to waste now, they can get pricey.
i also drilled the holes for the 1/2" and 2" PVC through the side of the res so i can pop the top and have total access to everything. i will post pix when i can figure out how...hehe

here is the reservoir, its a 37 gal. all insulated and ready to go, just need the holes.

i have four 6" drain pipes w/ 7 sites each, 1/2" pvc manifold w/ brass fittings.

2" drain rig that will 45 into the reservoir.

i built these sawhorse stands for the unit to sit on. i will place the manifold underneath the 6" pipes and fix it to the stands which will be connected together with 2 x 4 to make a solid unit.

res w/ 2" hole in it, i installed a basket drain in the bottom that will drain down through the floor and out into the garden. a 1 1/2 ball valve will be connected for easy res changes.

here is the pump in question, it needs a good clean up.

i couldnt find those green heads but got ahold of the yellow.
will set it all up by tommorrow eve and test run through the night. what do you think??

i think for the aero setup i will only use one 1000 watt on a track. i have like 5 tracks sitting around. if its on a track i could get away with having the light lower. but if it gets hung up it could spell disaster, so we'll see. the 4 bulb t5's on each side of the track should be a nice touch.
what would be the best nutes to go with?? earl, you had said in a post that clear nutes are the way to go. i am leaning towards the dutch master line. i currently use their 'Zone' for root stimulation and 'Penetrator' with all foliar applications. those aussie's are doing killer rounds.

now should i get those neoprene for the net pots, because the roots of my clones are 16" and longer. putting them into the hydro rocks would probably damage the roots right? the ez-cloner only has the neoprene to hold the stalks. it is very durable though and holds them really well. opinions?

I am going back to AN nutes.

The cost of the DM nutes make AN look cheap.

I had better yield with the AN nutes,
and I believe the thc content was higher.

Youtube vid on nute comparison

Great points. Not ever having worked much with this product... for this application... this may either dissuade me or challenge me.

I was thinking, originally, that you could drill a few holes around the outer tub then fill them with the foam. This is probably more effort than its worth -- and the expense...

What about lining the inner core with some type of insulation instead of wrapping it?

I thought about drilling some holes like you mentioned.

It would probly work.

One spray can of foam might be enough.

Take some pix if you make one.

I think I would hook up the basket drain
before applying the foam
so that it would hold the tubs together
and keep the foam from forming a high spot in the center.

After you fill the space between the tubs with foam,
turn them over, and place a light inside,
so you can see if there are any voids.
