seriously though, s.o.m.

I'm following this thread closely and I'm rooting for you. If I had the resources I'd do this as well.

peace.

p.s.

I'll try to have a less Hot avatar next go round. I'm not sure I like the idea of someone wanking to a cgi.... or do I? lol.

Thanks for the support, I'll keep trying to get this right. It takes time for things to evolve and it's slow work. I'm trying to do this without making too many mistakes along the way. Before I do any more transfers though I'm going to need to do some improvements in my hood. I don't want to lose the cultures I've got going so far. I've already had to start over once.

Hey, Sad Old Man. My turn. Here goes. The guy that made this kit worked at a culture lab and he says he is the laxiest person he knows and he still pulls off cultures. No air scrubbing, no gloves[spray hands with alcohol].
I am trying the Blueberry/Trainwreck and MLB cause they are hard to kill as clones. 5 MLb, 7 BB/TW. Started these on the 13th of this month.
Peace

LOki, Any pics of your sterile box in action?

This is very cool stuff. So you maintain an inventory of different mother strains, but need to change out the nutrient in tubes once a month. And risk contamination?

Seems like if you run the risk of losing 10% due to contamination, sooner or later you'd lose strains.

No, unfortunately not at the moment... I plan on doing some more micro-cultures this winter, but I just don't have the time for it now... Not that its really that much work, but you have to be able to do it right...

I've got a better camera now, so the pics will be much better...

And they'll be a bit more than micro cultures. I've got 10ml of this solution that contains balls of gold, 8-10 atoms big... and a homemade battery powered portable centrifuge (fits in my freezer) and a partially completed DNA gun...
