The outdoor garden lounge is at its best in the sunny weather.

There's a snazzy new deck in the back which expands the available space, and makes things much more wheelchair accessible.

There's a party on the last Saturday of every month. But this two-year anniversary party will be special.

Wow, been a few times but never seen the deck, or the back of the place at all, for that matter.. Definitely going to check that out soon.

i dropped by last week to check it out and it's very nice...the staff were super-friendly and provided a tour of the whole place...i like the big open space on the deck (it was a sunny warm day), and hope it doesn't fall prey to the new vancouver patio laws

I AM SOOOO STOKED! I will be visiting vancouver in the coming spring and nothing is gonna keep me from stopping by! I was wondering though because it wasn't in the thread so far: do you have live bands come play ever? Keep up the good work and I will be along soon!!!!

Looks like straight up Amsterdam canal style. I think you're father away from me than Amsterdam itself so it's probably a different world out there

We can't be too noisy as it is kind of a residential area, so we don't have live music. But most of the parties have a DJ so that is sort of live. Occasionally we have something acoustic but that is quite rare.

I've just opened up a Medical Cannabis Dispensary two doors down from the Seed Bank. It's at 880 East Hastings. http://www.CannabisDispensary.ca We've been open just over two months now. You need a doctor's diagnosis and so on to use our services, the website has details.

i have visited the vsb a few times..although the staff were super friendly i was really shy and wasnt even aware of the tokers area..i bought seeds and a few cacti cuttings and a salvia cutting..great germination rates and all plants are happily growing as i type..

maybe next time i travel to the big city i wont be so shy and ill visit the smoke room..

I went to the VSB for the 3rd or 4th time last week and it will unfortunately be my last visit.

I am a member at the Dispensary next door and they told me I was welcome to go to the VSB to have a safe and relaxed atmosphere to use my medicine.

I went in and was greeted by one of the girls working and she cordially allowed me to go to the lounge area, free of charge.

For some reason, not paranoia, I was given eery looks and stares by everyone there. I am fully legal Health Canada exemptee and was given the cold shoulder by everyone. I went to one of the rooms and tried to make conversation with others who were using the vaporizer. I heard someone whispering, "He's a narc.." I couldn't believe my ears.

I went outside to chill and smoke and was also greeted by unwelcoming stares and hushed whispers as I sat alone in the covered area. It was overwhelmingly un-nerving.

I understand that this is a private establishment but I would hope that customer service is at the forefront of everyone who works there. It was an incredibly uncomfortable situation which makes me sad as I had some positive experiences there during some summer parties.

Being a HC exemptee and a member of the Dispensary, I would hope that I would be the last person people would be calling, "Narc."

With that bad taste in my mouth, I hope others who visit would have a more welcoming and pleasant experience than my most recent visit to the Vancouver Seed Bank.

That's a sad story to hear, and I'm sorry you experienced it. Some people can be very rude and exclusionary, but I'm sure visitors to VSB change with every day and it just wasn't a "good crowd". If you want to check out somewhere else to chill, at least one of our two lounges may be more comfortable and to your liking!
