This particular crop got a little neglected while i was tending to another harvest, usually it is a bit more of a bush. I wish i would have done more topping than i did but i guess this will be sufficient.

Here is another view showing the end of the gutters after a couple weeks. Everything is still nice and clean with no algae build up. It seems like they grow so fast they end up shading the trays so no algae can grow but even if it does it can simply be wiped out...

I guess ill do a couple more pictures of these and then get onto the other room with the buds.

Thanks guys. I do let them get a little tall but when i do that im able to bend things around and manipulate the grow area. I still end up with large colas on the top layer then some golf balls then the lower small popcorns go to the hash bags. Here is an outside shot where the least amount of light is. This back few stretch out when they start flowering but ill just do some tying to keep things even....

Here is my walking space. Eventually there wont be one, crawling around under the system is the only option....

Just switched into the flowering stage. Its about time to do a res change. I flush with plain ph'd water for a day then continiue the veg formula for a week into flowering. Then ill flush again and switch over to a fruiting formula. These look a whole lot different than when i put them in there....

Definition of HAPPINESS = Needing to crawl through your grow because it got so bushy.

how tall/long do you go before you go to 12/12 cycle? Do the roots ever clog up the hydroton and cause a spill? It looks great!!

Hello again time for an update on the grow.

As for the system ever clogging up with roots and causing a spill, well yes and no. The roots tend to get pretty thick in the trays near the end of their life. What i do when this happens is just turn down the flow valve at the top of the system. I just try to keep the flow/drain ratio even and it is spill proof. As far as how long/tall do i let them get before flowering. I dont really tend to go on hight because i seem to have enough head room. Usually its just around 4 to 6 weeks of veg. 6 being the maximum , when i go that long they do get a bit tall during the stretch.

So here we go into some flowering plants. This room has the same 2x1000w but has 2 additional trays. Now these plants are going into there second week of 12/12. One side was vegged for 5-6 weeks the other 4. There is a fairly obvious difference between the to. They are under sodium bulbs only and the results are the same. I let the camera take in all the red to show the transition in color. Dont worry there wont be anymore extreme red photos like these after this...

Little baby bud just starting to form...

Soon to be a nice sugar coated bud...

I guess ill continue with some more buds that are a little more enjoyable to look at. Stay safe and keep growing.

Thanks, i try to do my best to grow good bud and i want to show people you dont really need an expensive and sophisticated set up to do so.

So here we have the same crop around week 5. One side of this room was vegged for two weeks longer and yielded quite a bit more than the other side. Both of these were grown using the lucas gh formula. I keep the ph around 6.0 to 6.2 any lower or higher and i have problems. I know alot of people run at 5.5. to 5.8 but this system likes that range. The ec level i run at this stage is roughly 1.70 up to 1.90. In this pic you can also see the duct work for the exhaust. Looks like i need to clean off my reflectors, they look kinda dusty...

Bud shots to follow.
