Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'd like to pose a question to the group.
Does anyone out there know what the plant specific recipe for the agar mix used to put a cannabis cutting into in-vetro microculture is? I would like to know the amount of the hormones in each type of culture, shoot developement and rooting phase. The ammount of finished medium is to be 1 liter. Any help would be appreciated. I know I'll get some help here,so thanks in advance.

I would love to help but I have no idea wtf you are talking about. isn't agar the gelatinous stuff used in petri dishes for growing bacterial cultures?

check out the site planttc.com and you will know what I'm refering too.It's a way to keep your Mother plants in a culture jar that takes hardly any space, and very low wattages of light to maintain them.

I would have no idea what hormones you would need to use for mj, but I would assume that if they have a tomato blend it would be a damn fine start for it.

Ya, my Moms are taking up valuable real estate that could be used for other things, that and the Moms seem to bring other problems into the grow. And so I'm gonna try this. If it works I'll have more than 5 Moms in culture.:)

this is a good idea. ive learned a bit about microculture in school, and its a very interesting subject to me. its too bad that none of my horticulture instructors (small school, rural area) arent very knowledeable in this area for me to pick their brain.

I've heard mention of this before but not much about it.

What would the costs be for a DIY setup? I read that you have to have a completely sterile setup and have a low oxygen cooler to store them.

So far I've gotten about $400.00 invested. I'm just waiting for the rest of the materials to arrive. With my indoor garden, I have a lot of the escentials already in place. Time will tell. The sterile enviroment stuff doesn't scare me off, as I've already had some experience with growing mushrooms.I haven't run into any mention of special storage of the cultures. Only as far as they need little light and kept in a clean enviroment, like my grow room, nothing extra.
