Herb dilates the lung's bronchioles, or air passages. Nicotine has the opposite effect. So which one is really the devils weed?

So true. I have experienced the same effect. Nicotine bad.. THC Good!

I have been completely tobacco and nicotine free for 9 days. It was a quick decision to stop cold turkey. I was driving to work and realized I had run out of smokes. I decided to just not buy any more, and I haven't smoked one since Sunday June 10th. It feels really good to not wake up hacking phlem every morning. It feels good to not have that taste in my mouth. It feels good to not have that stink on my hands. It feels good to take a huge bong rip and not hurt my throat. It's just like alcoholics, I will be a tobacco addict forever, so everyday there could be that temptation to smoke. But I know how much better it feels to be a non smoker than a smoker. This is my third time quiting. The most successfull attempt lasted 2 months. But I feel like this time it's for good.

Just a quick update. I have been tobacco free now for 1 year and 2 months. Ya for me!

I still hide joint smoking as my daughter still has not made the distinction, however I do mostly vaporize now and she is well aware of its presence. But I don't vape in front of her as she is still to young.

Great job Cannadude, quitting is one of the hardest things Ive ever tried. Im a casual smoker, somewhere between 3-7 cigs a day (depending on how much weed I have, I could quit easily if I had all the pot to get me through the first week or two).

I quit about 6 months ago for a month and a half. It wasnt too tough after the first week, but I fell right back into the habit after my first cigarette. Now Im planning to quit in early august, as Im moving away from a lot of the reasons I smoke, mainly my old job which is where I started smoking.

Im moving up to Humboldt County though, and I figure I should probably get my lungs a nice break beforehand so they can be in top shape before I start to burn it down up there.

I always was concerned that what you exhale could affect the kids, whether cigarettes or pot, even with a vaporizer. So I choose to smoke it in a separate room with an open window.

As a kid I really. really hated my parents both smoking cigs all day, every day. I couldn't stand it, couldn't wait to leave and it has harmed my health in some ways. People, kids, deserve better. The second hand smoke might get them high.

In my school they started talking about drugs in 3rd grade so I would say that is a good time to talk. I think it also depends on the kid, As I was always surrounded by political talk in my home so I understood some-what how society operates. I'm not a parent nor will I be one for a while though.

My dad didn't talk to me about pot until I was 18. And it was a "Hey, want to smoke?" talk. I pretty much figured it out when I started smoking (~16?) and now we smoke buds together all the time. \:D

I don't feel betrayed or lied too--I know exactly his reasons for being secretive about it. I had a great relationship with my parents growing up. Secrecy isn't about deceiving people, it's about understanding the greater good.

I'm not saying that's the best way to handle it--but it was a way for my dad to let me discover pot on my own without feeling like he impressed it upon me.

Well put OG. I would let my kids read about the facts on ciggarettes and Cannabis. The American College of Physicians wrote a 13 page position paper on the positive uses for Cannabis. You could teach them a few points at a time and allow them to see for themselves the causes and effects for each.

Congrats on all who stopped smokin ciggs. I smoked ciggs. for about ten years and it's been about 4 and a half years since i quit. Yes herb helped a lot as well and i did increase my intake, but i really wanted to quit. I bought my last carton and somewhere in the middle when i got the nerve to quit, i had a feeling of assurance that i had half a carton there if i wanted it, but i didn't touch it. I sold the remaining packs after I stopped having the urge to smoke.

What temp. Do you guys set your vaporizer to? I personally set around 420º fpr regs depending on stickiness, and around 360º for KB / dro. Just wondering.
Smoke on!
