so many things have changed since this debate started; steven harper won another minority government and barak obama has been elected president of the united states of america. the canadian parlament is now in crisis as a coalision between the liberals and the new democrats ; supported by the bloc brings a vote of nonconfidence on steven harper and the conservative government... the governor general close down parliament on mr harpers request in an effort to save his job but, i can see the hand writing on the wall... it is just a matter of time before this government falls, i guess sometime in the new year january, 2009. with this momentos turn of events brought on by the conseratives and our country in a political crisis hopefully , a new leader will emerge who supports our cause and the cannabis culture... with a new government in ottawa and a new government in washington all this hunting of people and plants will stop... the bc3 will be free to live their lives and do business in a new world of freedom and democracy... the past eight years of terror would have been a distant memory and we cannabis / hemp lovers can celebrate and build a better life for our families... keep up the good work marc and jodi, continue to enlighten the masses and enjoy the fruits, flowers and fibers of the garden of eden... peace & love, from; renney b.

In the last couple of months, I've seen 4 documentaries... American Drug War: The Last White Hope, US vs Tommy Chong, Prince of Pot, and The Union: The Business Behind Getting High... I've never been so p!ssed off!!
What I gathered, is pharmaceuticals make up about 50% of the US economy, from the manufacturing, advertising, to the trucking, distribution, and everything in between. There's also the stocks and the stock holders. Don't forget about all the other businesses that branch out from the parent companies as well. .. Now factor in the fact that cannabis could replace 80% of all the pills that are made in labs by these companies... for free... damn straight someone's scared!
Then there's these privately run jails. They're on the stock market, and they are the most suggested stock to get into right now. The Geo Group or something. Harper wants them up here. They get 30-50k a year to house the prisoners, then they put the prisoners in a 'work group'... chain gang... slavery. They get paid, but not very much. They're being 'punished'. So, obviously, the more people in jail, the more money the stock makes, and the more money the stock holders make. Pretty sick.
Then you have all these kids in drug rehab over weed. Well, they either take the rehab, or go to jail.. obviously it's the rehab. Well, the rehabilitation industry is something else that's booming right now... obviously they want your business.
With the BC3's case, I just can't believe my own damn government is actually bending to the US... it's friggin' embarrassing. We're supposed to be the 'true north strong and free'! Maybe the North American Union really is coming to fruition... as soon as Canada and Mexico start complying with US laws. Hell, they already stopped us from decriminalizing in '04.
Best line I heard in one of the documentaries... if cannabis has no medical value, as the US says, then why is there marinol?
