Yeah... can't really find the Coliseum or the Cage down here.
Almost everything else imaginable is around though! Just out of curiosity, why the Coliseum? Is it sheer numbers?
It just seems to me that while it has so many plant sites, the holes are tiny compared to the Octo set up which uses 5" net pots, if I'm not mistaken. It might get you the same yield overall, I don't know. It would certainly get you "county legal**" on your numbers as you can have 99 plants with a 215 card (if you care about that).
Also, since the Octo and Vert-tube manufacturer is local, you could avoid shipping fees and possible in-transit breakage, PLUS no one has to have your address or financial info. Just walk into the store, pay with cash and leave with your equipment. No paper trail.
Most area hydro stores (including Water Planet and NorthCoast Horticulture) have the Octagons up and running for you to view. If buying THAT amount of equipment in-person, expect at least a 10% discount off the original price tag. MORE, if paying in cash. If they don't offer it, ask for it. AND be sure to price shop a bit; most stores up here will match or beat the price... name drop if need be (i.e., "So and So over at 'Humboldt Hydroponics' can get me all this for 'x' price). There are so many stores up here competing for business, it's NUTS!
Finally, if you are going to buy local, check out the internet prices anyway. Like I said, some stores will price match; it could work with internet pricing as well. Heck, some of the local stores have their own websites and/or ebay stores where they offer incredible deals. Try to get them to match their own prices, or at worst see if they'll allow you to order over the 'net, but pick it up in person to get that price.
I don't know if this was at all helpful, but I thought it might be something to ponder. Best of luck in your gardening adventures.
Peace and Pot from the Humboldt Nation
**Grow limits for a Medical Marijuana Grow in unincorporated areas of Humboldt County as adopted in 2004 are as follows: Up to 100 square feet of canopy and up to 99 plants, including starts (cuttings/clones). Up to 3 lbs of dried marijuana buds per Doctor's recommendation. Individual cities and towns within the county can set their own limits, not to fall below the "floor" set by SB 420 which limits patients to 6 mature or 12 immature plants and 8 oz died cannabis buds.

coliseum is the highest producing machine known to man so far... a man on his first grows using the coli's did an experimant...in one he used 2 1k hps's..in the other he put in 4 600watt hps... he got 10 lbs with the 2k one while getting 12 lbs using the 4 600's... he did fill every hole with each coli(600 plants),had half of each is filled with sweettooth, and the other half was shishkaberry.... most people cant grow SOG,thats there fault for not trying to learn...alot of people think they know everything but dont have a clue...vertical is the reason the police cant stop us... I actually use the growall..doin an experimant with it, have 4 panels...2 250 watt hps,in small cool tubes...lights is only about 8in from the panels, and i have some plants over 14in tall...,but they grow str8 up so they r cool,an occasional leaf gets burned, but its ok...a lil sacrifice for the bigger picture... I think I should get around 1/2 to 3/4 lb a panel... I cant see getting less than 2 lbs off all 4.without using co2.,.. i dont have the whole thing filled,so there is more potential.. ..some of my plants were different heights, due to crappy clones.. but filled completely I think i should get 3-4 all day without co2,4 plus with co2..,...we will see...just imagine 4 lbs off the same power most people use to turn on a bathroom light... the guy that sold them to me ,said he knows a guy that got 15 lbs off 2 1k hps... but it did take around 900 babies...my 4 panels will hold 96 Didnt mean to steal the thread
