i've made two small (1 oz) batches of this stuff, basically following master wuu's methods, with the latter batch coming out a little stronger then the first. there were 2 variable involved, one being the bud involved, the second being a small difference to the cooking setup.

as for the bud, both times i used highest quality stuff, weighed out 3.5 grams, in 2 oz of alcohol. The first bud being one of a more indica variety; the second being more of sativa genetics. Im not sure if you all have seen the same results, but i felt as if the 'high' i got from smoking them, was the type of high i got from them when drinking the green dragon.

the second variable was in the cooking method.
the first time i put the alcohol mixture in a larger/wider jar, so that it was more spread out. I put that jar directly into the pot, and slowly heated the water and jar together, and once the mixture started boiling (reached 170*) started the 20 min timer. this method burned off about 60% of total volume.

the second time around, i decided to use a double broiler. I felt that the first time, maybe since the glass holding the mixture was directly in contact with the bottom of the pan used for holding the water bath, that the energy/heat transferred to it was actually above the temp of the alcohol mixture, maybe affecting how much green dragon/alcohol boiled out. With the double broiler, it seemed to me that the mixture could more evenly heated. I also had the water level higher on the second batch, but i dont think it mattered). The other difference i made, was i heated the water to about 160 degrees (small bubble first start to form), then stuck a smaller/narrower container full of the alcohol mixture in the water bath, and slowly heated it to 170*. This method yielded almost an exact 50% ratio of green dragon when finished.

as i said before, the second batch seemed to work 'better' (ie affects were felt stronger), but i'm not sure if it was because of the type of pot used. Each time, we've tested starting with 1ml (barely noticable affect), to 2.5ml (buzzed, but not blown), to 5 ml (good dosage, but wasnt overwhelmingly-knock-you-on-your-ass-potent) The problem is, when i make this for the third time, i will be using a different strain once again. This time i picked out something less potent then the 'medical' strain, but wont be afraid of wasting if it doesnt turn out. I've also decided to bake the green for a longer time, but at a lower temp. I will report back, and let you all know the results.

ps, both time the green dragon looked and tasted exactly the same. i wish there was a good method to measure potency. I will also say i tried smoking what was left of the brown bud after the alcohol dried out, and it had no thc in it that i could feel. was like smoking that fake shit you get at the headshop...

I've been doing this since before the new year, each time no real measurements were used. The oven times used were between 220 for 10  minutes, and 250 for 5 minutes. I've tried the soak method, and I've tried the hot water bath method. But I kept one thing the same, instead of using 1 strain, use multiple strains. Keep it, mostly indica dominate. But, don't be afraid to mix it up a little. Think of it like cooking, a pinch of this, a dash of that. Mines come out successful each time, each time I've used strains that were in the medicinal group, kush in several varieties, blue dream, Mr nice guy, etc... Each batch, the effects were almost instant. The key to a successful tincture, is to use several strains.
