I have a 6 year old daughter who is very inquisative and intelligent. I quit smoking cigarettes 3 months ago due to health concerns and fear that my daughter will pick up the addiction at a later age(she told me shortly before quitting that she wanted to smoke, just like me when she will be older).
I hate the fact that I now have to hide my marijuana smoking from her as I feel that I am deceiving her in some way The last thing you would want to feel responsible for helping to create is a fourteen year old daughter hooked on tobacco, been drinking fortwo years, lost her virginity a year ago and just found out she`s pregnant. All grown up with no place to go. Parents should keep secrets from their children.I would start warning her about the harms of drugs and alcohol early. The tykes are being exposed to adult indulgences at younger stages of life than most kids were back in the 50s. And if you wait too long, she just might already have been fooled into believing someone else over you. A very inquisitive 6 year old needs both parents in complete agreement talking and explaining the facts of life rigt now. What you posted says you love your daughter and want to protect her. Whatcha waitin` for?
