Hi,it`s Neil from the freedom tour. It`s the first time for me posting in a forum.I`m just recently, getting up to speed on the whole computer thing.I`m sorry for taking so long. After skating from Victoria to Nanaimo and back to Vancouver,I`ll be heading out to do the rest of the trip on thursday July 13 from the Georgia side (north)of the Vancouver art gallery, arriving at 2pm,leaving at 5pm.Please come and see us off,if you can. Rasta(rev.deveen)and I tried to put up signs at apx.2pm June 26 at the Vic.leg.when the tour started,But we were"not allowed" by the men in uni`s.At least we have the video. No support or media at the leg.so we went and visited the V.C.C.,Teds books and a couple of the local Legions. then it was back to the leg.to put on the pads and skates, have a good stretch and began the "Journey for Justice" I skated over the Mallahat to Duncan were we had a cool visit in the local park with some young Duncanites, discussing freedom etc.Made it to Nanaimo for a radio int.a news paper photo and int.and a nice chicken bbq with Steve and friends. We visited 5 legions in all. We had agreat visit at The Smoke Zone in Nanaimo, drop in and you`ll feel at home Im sure.I`ll have more to say soon.thanks for all the good vibes, please come if you can to the art gallery thurs 2 to 5.We are still needing sponsors etc.you can find us at freedomtour.ca

Rolling right along
By MATT KIELTYKA, Vancouver 24 HOURSA local marijuana activist is taking his fight to end prohibition to Ottawa, but he's taking his sweet time on the way there. Neil Magnuson continued his "freedom tour" in Vancouver yesterday. He began in Victoria, and plans to rollerblade across the country before reaching the nation's capital in November. "I'm taking my time, I want to talk to as many people along the way as possible," said Magnuson in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. "I want to talk to them about freedom and righst and wake them up." Magnuson believes people should be free to use marijuana and that prohibiting the drug only makes more people use it. "The amount of money we spend on controlling drugs is doing more damage than good," he contends. As for the physical aspect of his trip, Magnuson believes he can go the distance. "I have faith I can meet the challenge physically," he said, "at the same time though, I'm not going to be stupid about it and kill myself. When the terrain is too rough for blades I'll get on my bike instead." You can follow Magnuson's progress at www.freedomtour.ca. Contact: news@24hrs.cavancouver.24hrs

After meeting at the art gallery in Vancouver, with some of my friends ,and doing an interview with 24 magazine,I skated off to Maple Ridge. There have been many obsticles to overcome so far. Thanks to all of you who have helped to get the tour this far.(you know who you are)We are in need of sponsors and people to join us.(especialy drivers lic. holders)
We had a fun visit with William at his store in Maple ridge,Guilty Pleasures.William and his father have been fearless advocates of rights and freedoms for many years. We all owe them a debt of gratitude.
WE are being delayed a couple of days ,in order to deal with some issues before we continue. I look foreward to hearing from those who would like to help.Freedom will prevail! We will get our people out of jail!
Thank you.

Sadly I must announce the passing of the freedomtour mascot Miss. Murphy Brown. She died peacefully in her sleep, with a smile on her face tues. July 18.She was apx.16 yrs. old.I got her for free July 25 1995.There was no warning, she was happy and if anything happier and friskier than normal the last few days,I commented that she seemed to know we were on quite a journey. We were truly blessed by the universe to have this great creature in our midst, she was the genisis of innumerable smiles. She was an effective activist,a decade of protests, rallies, marches etc.she helped to make me the activist that I am.She will be remembered and missed by a great number of people.I will continue on the freedomtour with her spirit as my companion,I will make my way to Vernon to take part in a rally on July 29.come if you can! Thanks, and check out the freedomtour at freedomtour.ca
