Since Jack "off" Layton came out against legalization I will no longer vote for NDP. I am going Green now. I suggest all you follow and Email the jerk telling him so!

Just to be clear, all Jack Layton said was that the NDP has not supported "legalization" of marijuana. This is true as the resolution passed calls for "decriminalization".
We will be introducing a comprehensive marijuana and drug policy resolution at the coming NDP convention this August in an effort to get the party policy strengthened into something beyond "decriminalization". Thanks Dana for clearing that up. It still doesn't sound the same as the last I heard it. Maybe legalization isn't the answer but I'd like to see it treated like alcohol. You want to brew a few in your basement you should feel free to share it with your friends. Along with the beer and wine that supplied supplemental CO2. I've been voting an NDP ticket since we got them in the first time in BC. I still vote them up here in the Great White North even though it's pretty much a lost cause. My wife and I were even scrutineers the last election and I still have them pulling a small donation out of my bank every month. I joined eNDProhibition when they first started up and haven't heard squat from them. I think us stoners are our own worst enemies. Look what happened in Alaska. Get the weed then don't bother getting off your blazed butts to keep it. Does not bode well. Harper has to go. We just can't go down the same path the US has been following these last few decades. We just can't. The deaths in Mexico and the increasing gang violence in my hometown digs of Vandsterdam and other major centers in North and South America can only lead the sighted to conclude that the "War on Drugs" is even more counter-productive than alcohol prohibition was. The big, bad corporations that have fueled all this grief are on their collective knees begging for solvency. I say. Lets kick 'em when they're down! Just my $0.02 worth.

I joined eNDProhibition when they first started up and haven't heard squat from them. We started End Prohibition in 2005. When did you join? We've had numerous mail-outs since then, you should have received newsletters and so on. Send me a message with your mailing address and info and I'll make sure you are on our list. Anyone can join our End Prohibition group here: http://www.endprohibition.ca/join.phpThere's also an email discussion and news list you can join here: http://www.endprohibition.ca/email.php
