ok so i have a furnace blower w/motor and i want to wire it to a 110ac plug. there are 4 wires 1 white, 1 red, 1 dark blue, 1 light blue. i want to wire it to a grounded plug(3 prong) the blower i think was 2 speed (and there is a thing on the side that looks like a hps starter) any help is greatly appreciated

I can't help you out with the wiring aspect of your furnace blower, but I can refer back to some help I offered earlier this year to a new grower that was thinking of doing the same thing you are. Just a quick point though,,,have you any idea how much air a furnace blower moves? It will surely keep your lights cool, but will also most likely blow over or suck your plants right out of the room. Maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but you have to think about the purpose of it originally. It is designed to properly and efficiently circulate the total volume of air in a complete house and not just a grow room, depending on the size of your room. Before you get it installed, turn it on and it knocks all your plants over, leave it on the floor in the open and turn it on while standing in front of it. I think you might change your mind about putting it in your room. Mind you, you won't have any problems with heat build up at all.

i am just using it with a air cooled reflector,it wont be blowing into my room at all. i will wire in a speed switch(like a dimmer)and turn it down. i am going to guess tomorrow on the wire hookups unless someone gives me some insight

It looks as though there are two white labels on the side of the fan.
Is one a schematic to the motor? Zoom in...

Forget the dimmer idea. Buy a rheostat to regulate current.

no the labels are just saying the direction of rotation and to remove shipping brackets before using and that it has been inspected in conformance to quality & engineering specs
i would just use an inline fan and have no problems, if i could afford it, but i am the only income and my girlfriend is in school right now so times are tough. ill add the pics anyway

...Just use the black & white wire's. The other two have to do with the rest of the system. Attach a ground to the housing if you want to. Bench test it and make sure it works before you do anything if you haven't done so yet. I think that capaciter is like a spark arrest or something. Hook your ground to its ground...

That is a start capitor on the side, don't hook anything to it. Hook the white wire to the white neutral wire on you plug, the black will go to one of the remaining wires to achieve the desired speed (low, medium or high) The ground can be attached anywhere on the casing, make sure the paint is removed so the wire makes contact with the metal of the case.

Additional note: That may only be a two speed blower, with one wire (most likely blue or light blue) being for the cooling (AC) cycle.

once you've found the operating speed you want, snip the other exposed wires so no copper is showing, and use either a wire nut or electrical tape to cover the ends and secure them out of harms way.

Basically the start caps are used to extend the life of the motors and reduce initial draw on the electrical circuit. Those motors typically range from 1/4 horsepower up to 4-5 HP and yes, they will move some air!!
