Canada AM: Marc Emery the Prince of Pot


Hi everyone.

As a LEGAL medical marijuana patient here in Canada for chronic progressive multiple sclerosis and an associated pain in my face called tic dolloureux, I have just one question...

I was wondering why Beverly Thompson was so hard on one of my friends interviewed on Canada Am this morning, Marc Emery, whom CNN entitled "the Prince of Pot" ?

Having herself suffered from a publicized catastrophic illness (breast cancer), she seeemed at times, angry with Marc for his blatant confidence in the benefits of the marijuana plant?

You would think that Beverly would be more than aware of one of the illnesses marijuana has been PROVEN to help?

I would like to know just what her feelings are about marijuana in general?

It sure seems to me she needs some indepth, Doctor approved information from some credible and scientifically correct data, all concerning the natural, harmless side effects noted with this plant.

People were this uppity about legalizing Sunday shopping too. Now when you look back on it, can you imagine not being able to go to a shopping mall because it's Sunday? Or lashing out at Marc Emery for saying you should be able to?

Having some trouble getting video from the website... Nothing shows up when I click on the link.. If I view source I can get the raw .wmv link but when I load it in Media Player it just gives me audio, no video... This happening to anyone else?

that's the part that made me fume.....Marc was awesome as usual, but because that's the closer and what's left in the minds of all the soccer moms (the majority of their viewers). They're sitting in their kitchens watching the countertop tv saying to themselves "yeah...she's right. Pot is bad so you shouldn't do it and King definitely wasn't talking about pot..*eye roll* "

I don't think she was so bad. She certainly didn't cut him off at the end. Not everyone is going to prostrate to Emery, in fact I don't think it is a very Canadian thing to stand side by side with a vocal dissident. I think we have a tendancy to side with authority by default. You don't see much of that at the CC forums of course, but in general I think it is true. It is Marc's biggest challenge to overcome this.
