Somerset Store Pulls Marijuana Cookbook By Cecilia Oleck
Source: Detroit Free Press December 03, 2005 Troy, Mich.
Looking to add Trippy Krispy Treats to your holiday hors d'oeuvres list? Until this week, you could find a recipe for the marijuana-laced sweets in a cookbook sold at the newly opened Urban Outfitters at the Somerset Collection mall in Troy, Mich. But the hip store - which caters to the trendy high school and college crowd with cool clothes, edgy books and games, and funky home decorations - pulled "The Marijuana Chef Cookbook" by S.T. Oner after a Troy group complained.

MARIJUANA POINTS WAY TO ANTI-OBESITY DRUG
A marijuana joint might seem an odd starting point in the search for weight-loss solutions.  Yet a new compound switching off the same brain circuits that make people hungry when they smoke cannabis looks set to become the world's first blockbuster anti-obesity medicine, with sales tipped by analysts to top $3 billion US a year.

Every collectivist revolution rides in on a Trojan horse of "emergency". It was the tactic of Lenin, Hitler, and Mussolini. In the collectivist sweep over a dozen minor countries of Europe, it was the cry of men striving to get on horseback. And "emergency" became the justification of the subsequent steps. This technique of creating emergency is the greatest achievement that demagoguery attains.

AK: Lawmakers Merge Marijuana, Meth Bills

Changes Approved To Marijuana-Meth Bill By Anne Sutton
Associated Press January 18, 2006 Juneau, Alaska
Despite protests from Democrats, the Alaska Senate agreed Wednesday to merge the recriminalization of marijuana with restrictions on the sale of over-the-counter drugs used to make methamphetamine. The Senate Finance Committee last week combined the two pieces of legislation, saying the result was a more efficient vehicle for the governor's must-pass bills.

Speed Kills. So does aspirin. But I would imagine an ole porker like Roker took many white crosses and other diet type speed (meth). Ganja and hemp may have built this country, but it was speed (meth) that fueled it. Mothers lil helpers with a dose of pick me ups. truckers going coast to coast delivering fresh produce. Just give em weed, whites and wine, then show em a sign! The air force, army and GIrines all popping go pills to get the job done. With doctors and nurses staying awake on 36 hour shifts and even drug warriors out on a stake out, gathering evidence to bust some poor schmuck sick person for Ganja. Models staying skinny and now the first choice of quacks, a treatment for ADHD. It's in nasal sprays and btw, all those weathermen and women cramming weather school mid term exams. Tweekers building internets and blue collar labor racing up their heart rates getting piecework pay. So another WoD Junkie comes out of the closet. Even hinting his FAT addiction was caused by toking Ganja? Lies and more lame stories to keep this fraud Ganjawar going. Then sometimes the truth seeps in and juries free the condemned in spite of J. ACTION ALERT: Meth Bill Outlaws Any Drug Speech
it is a mandate so broad that it criminalizes any published speech about illegal drugs, even if that speech is aimed at reducing the harms associated with drug use. For example, the bill would apply to information about safe dosage levels of illegal drugs and which combinations of drugs pose dangers. It would apply to explanations about how to use marijuana for medicinal purposes.

MN Lawmakers Seek To Close Paraphernalia Loophole By Charley Shaw
Source: St. Paul Legal Ledger January 17, 2006 Minnesota
Two Republican state senators want to tighten Minnesota's laws against drug paraphernalia sales. At a Capitol news conference last Thursday, state Sens. Amy Koch, R-Buffalo, and Michael Jungbauer, R-East Bethel, said they want to identify in statute the kinds of pipes and other items they say are only used for illegal drugs. Koch said the proposal closes a "loophole" in the law.

Drug Bust By Vince Beiser
A $100-million anti-drug ad campaign was a complete waste. Here’s why.
The federal drug czar’s famous advertising campaign is suffering a serious buzz-kill. The series of anti-drug radio, TV, print, and Internet ads produced by the Office of National Drug Control Policy is under unprecedented fire--including a recent call for its elimination from dozens of Congressional Republicans. That caps a series of scandals and dismal evaluations of the program that brings such bon mots as “Parents: The Anti-Drug” and “Above the Influence” to your TV screen.

Cheney's Monstrous Scheme By Mary Louise
Project for the New American Century (PNAC)
The blueprint for our current foreign policy was being written back in 1992 by then-Defense Secretary, Dick Cheney. "His writings set out a new doctrine that called for U.S. power in the twentieth century, to be that of an aggressive and unilateral approach that would secure American dominance of world affairs by force if necessary." This "peace through strength" policy has been unfolding from the day Bush, Jr. took office; the strategic planning of it was done during the Clinton administration with funding from the military-industrial complex, energy companies, and right-wing foundations.  Over time, those working on these new plans evolved into PNAC, established in 1997 with members Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz at the helm.  May God help us!

Scientist's death haunts family (Merc News Complete Article)

excerpted: The death in 1953 of a government scientist, Frank Olson, in a fall from a New York hotel window, is one of the most notorious cases in CIA history.

The documents show that two of the key officials involved in the decision to withhold that information were White House aides Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, today the nation's vice president and secretary of Defense.

``These documents show the lengths to which the government was trying to cover up the truth,'' said the scientist's son, Eric Olson, who gave them to the Mercury News. ``For 22 years there was a coverup. And then, under the guise of revealing everything, there was a new coverup.''

Apocalypse Now! A Conservative Canada?
The Conservative Party say they will give any Canadians caught selling more than 3 kilograms of marijuana a mandatory 24 months minimum in jail. The Conservatives, who lead the polls in Canada’s general election for next Monday, January 23, have already indicated they want mandatory jail terms for any Canadian growing marijuana.

Senate Passes Marijuana, Methamphetamine Bill
Source: Associated Press January 19, 2006 Juneau, Alaska
The Alaska Senate today passed a bill to toughen penalties for marijuana possession and to make it more difficult to purchase the ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine.
The bill, which the Senate Finance Committee created from two separate bills, passed 17-to-1. It would make possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana a felony. Possession of less than 4 ounces, now allowed in the home thanks to a 1975 court ruling, would become a misdemeanor.
