New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about Tommy Chong's recent announcement that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and that he intends to treat it using the hemp oil cure made famous by Rick Simpson. The Dopefiend also gives his response to Tommy's desire that cannabis be decriminalised but not taxed, and talks about why he feels this is an idealistic yet naive goal for the cannabis community. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend looks at the response to his recent commentary on the news coverage of the face-eating attack by mentally ill Rudy Eugene, leading to some discussion of the possibility that those prone to cannabis-related psychosis may be incapable of regulating their own usage pattern, and also some commentary on how misreporting has led to widespread confusion about the truth behind the use of so-called "bath salts", as well as an answer to the dilemma of whether it is preferable to sell cannabis to fifteen year-olds than have them legally buy synthetic cannabinoids. Heading into the VaporLounge the Dopefiend speaks candidly about why he has chosen to extend his current fast from cannabis use by a second week, how this particular fast has impacted his emotional and mental well-being, and how some DopeTribers are still unwilling to accept the Dopefiend's choice to regulate his own usage pattern by regularly abstaining. After a musical interlude from European trance heroes Rosengren & Chelly, the Dopefiend returns to the emails and discusses the safety or unsafety of driving while high in the light of British government plans to prosecute drivers who have cannabis in their bloodstream, and also talks more about the recent decision by IOLITE to suspend production of the WISPR vaporizer. In this week's Cannabis News, Cannaya covers the possibility of legalisation of cannabis in Uruguay, how DEA Administrator Michelle Leonhart responded to a recent grilling over the true harms of drugs, Washington's overwhelming support for legalization, and how the daughter of John McCain has also come out in favour of legalized cannabis.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the news that has cannabis users the world over abuzz: Uruguay's decision to fully legalize, tax and regulate the supply of Cannabis to its 3.3 million inhabitants, and whether it may prove the first step in a global movement of legalization in the name of financial recovery. Turning to the emails, the Dopefiend reads an account from Blank Steve of his recent arrest and caution on the streets of London for smoking Northern Lights in public, leading the Dopefiend to give his own advice for dealing with British police if faced with a similar situation, before turning to the subject of a ritual or ceremony for cannabis use, with input from Lord Kalkin, and an update on the Dopefiend's own thoughts on the matter. After breaking a record-breaking dopefast, the Dopefiend settles back into a long-awaited stone to appreciate a musical interlude from Taboosoundz, before talking about the impact of cannabis use on dreams, the sorrows of having no regular supply of herb, how cannabis compares to alcohol as a social lubricant, and we get an email review of the Aromed vaporizer from Kiwinol. Finally, after some good news from Grow Guru Zandor, Me of Mangled Meditations makes his debut as a newscaster on the Dopecast, with some off-beat stories including Charlie Sheen, Illegal bank deposits, South America's New Amsterdam, and some surprising news of his own!

New Today from the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend is joined by a huge crowd of DopeTribers on the banks of the River Thames in the heart of London for a bit of outdoor stoneage in the sunshine. First, the Dopefiend talks to cannabis activist Greg de Hoedt, who makes his debut on the Dopecast by demonstrating his dabbing prowess before telling all about his use of cannabis as a treatment for Crohn's Disease, how it led him to pursue a life of activism, and how he is now deeply involved in the UK's cannabis community, including his leading role in the formation of the UK Cannabis Social Clubs and NORML-UK, and how he rates the chances of the cannabis legalisation movement in Britain going forward. Greg also gives some commentary on the recent British Lung Foundation report suggesting that cannabis is more harmful than tobacco smoke, how similar drug-related press hysteria is whipped up on an alarmingly regular basis, and talks about why he feels it's important for cannabis users to resist the temptation to live a secret stoner life. After being stunned into near silence by Greg's oil dabbing vapour-rig contraption, the Dopefiend manages to talk briefly to music producer and DopeTribe Elder Esse B about the release of a true DopeTribe collaborative effort, Drizzy DRO's So Potent Vol. 5: Grindin' Across The Pond, followed by a musical interlude plucked straight from the album itself. Next, Homer the Stoner brings us this week's Cannabis News, including Colombia's steps to decriminalise cannabis and cocaine, Labour MP Chuka Umunna's recent admission of his history of cannabis use, the 21 year-old British man facing the death penalty in Abu Dhabi for selling cannabis, and the latest in the strange saga of the life of Peter Reynolds. Finally the Dopefiend is suprised by another DopeTribe elder, UpYer, who wraps up this week's extraordinary Dopecast with a surprise performance of his own!

New Today from the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast:

On this week's deeply personal episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend welcomes the DopeTribe into his understanding of the extraordinary journey on which the last eleven days have taken him, one which began with joyful and utterly uninihibited psychedelic exploration in a very wet English countryside, and took him through the full gamut of human experience and emotion, from joy to pain, love to fear, bliss to grief, exhilaration to despair, and every conceivable junction in between. The Dopefiend talks of his experience taking psilocybin analogue 4-aco-dmt, a disappointing LSD trip which never quite took hold, and the true soaring heights of utter bliss found in sharing the glowing mists of MDMA space with trusted friends gathered around an eternal campfire. Then, the Dopefiend explains how such dizzying new heights in the story of his life were accompanied by the deepest, darkest pits of blackness he has ever encountered, which have shaped his understanding of who he is in a profound and deeply challenging, identity-shattering way. Following a twofold musical interlude which combines the rich harmony of his expedition into Beauty with the stubborn determination to stare into the obsidian eyes of his most terrifying inner demons, the Dopefiend also shares another surreal occurence from the last few days, the return of Floydhead to the ongoing saga of the DopeTribe, and his own explanation for some astonishing recent activity. Finally the Dopefiend talks about how this story has challenged his relationship with the "Dopefiend" character, and confirmed his convictions that major adjustments to how the Dopefiend relates to the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network are approaching.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks to DopeTriber Weeshug, who is currently facing a 2-year prison sentence for his small, personal, medical grow operation. Weeshug tells how the police discovered his grow, which supplied him with much-needed pain medication until he was forced to stop growing and use prescription opiates, and explains why this turn of events, coupled with the threat of prison time, is particularly troubling for a recovering heroin addict with seven years' sobriety. The Dopefiend and Weeshug discuss how despite recent sentencing guidelines which supposedly favour personal, medical growers, the police and courts are still able to punish otherwise law-abiding, productive members of society to the full extent of the law, for no crime other than the treatment of their pain without resorting to the criminal marketplace. Next, the Dopefiend heads into the VaporLounge to inhale some earthy Durban Skunk vapour from his Arizer Solo while talking about where he stands following the immense emotional upheaval described in last week's Dopecast. The Dopefiend talks about how we all are expected to compromise our creative drives in order to function in consensus reality, and the strain under which this puts us all, linking this theme to his own journey of self-discovery over the seven-year history of the Dopecast, and his plans to maintain his new-found close allignment with his true self. Following a musical interlude from Australian DopeTriber Psilophyte, the Dopefiend turns to the rafts of email response to last week's Dopecast, including some personal stories of affinity from the DopeTribe.

New Today from the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about how the introduction of the ban on cannabis tourism in the south of the Netherlands has,as predicted, led to a massive increase in unregulated street dealing linked to illegal immigration and harder drugs. The Dopefiend talks about the insanity that seems to prefer this sort of nuisance to the so-called nuisance of well-run, strictly regulated cannabis coffeeshops, currently operating under threat of imminent closure throughout the country. Next, the Dopefiend turns to yet more email feedback from the DopeTribe concerning his recent life-changing MDMA experience, as well as some talk of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs, and whether Spain's cannabis social clubs can be accessed by foreigners, before the Dopefiend heads into the VaporLounge to toke on some Durban Skunk while ruminating on the slow restoration of balance in his inner world, and the roller-coaster week led by DopeTriber weeshug, who was charged, bailed and released pending appeal in the last seven days. After a rousing musical interlude, Hatchy emails with his own story of the power of MDMA to affect one's mental stability, before Shockrocket and Stoo return with the latest Cannabis News, including their own take on the latest developments in the saga of the Netherlands' wietpas, the success of Portugal's decriminalisation of drugs, a new study confirms that cannabis is indeed of medicinal benefit, and that vaporizing is better for your health than smoking, L.A. city council bans cannabis dispensaries, a new Norwegian study into drug content of human waste, and the thoughts of Morgan Freeman and Roseanne Barr on the war on cannabis.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about the perilous and unknowable path trodden by that strange breed of humanity that calls itself psychonauts, what it is that those of us who voyage to such extraordinary realms despite the considerable risk such travel involves are seeking, whether it can ever be found, and if so, what that means for the so-called "real world" and our place within it. Moving on the the emails, the Dopefiend reads a response to the last few Dopecasts from DopeTribe Elder Komrade Komura, who gives an alternative slant on the riots, handling grief, the psychedelic experience, and the importance of the Dopecast as a voice of opposition against the forces that govern our world, as well us some words of support from Dopefiend.co.uk podcasting hero Lefty, and the perspective of DopeTribe newcomer the Duke of Dope on the phenomenon that is the DopeTribe. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend speaks about his meditation practice, and also about his past week and how recent events seem to be further changing his relationship with cannabis. After a toke on some Iced Grapefruit and a musical interlude, the Dopefiend reads a strange story of synchronicity and fear of death from Hophead, and TreeMan tells his own story of how a psychedelic experience threatened his sanity for eight years, but hasn't deterred him from using mushrooms regularly. In this week's Cannabis News, Homer returns to tell us about how Medical Marijuana patients are set to take on the DEA in court, how a new study shows that alcohol is the real gateway drug for teenagers, the British gambler who grew ganja to pay his debts, yet another story of a medical user hauled through the courts for growing his own medicine, and was cannabis really to blame for a New Zealand man's motorcycle crash.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks to medical cannabis user and legalisation activist Clark French, who talks about his introduction to medical use of cannabis through witnessing his stepfather treating his multiple sclerosis symptoms with cannabis, how this led to him developing a positive attitude to cannabis from a very early age, how he went on to develop multiple sclerosis himself, and his subsequent journey which has led him to come face to face with the medical community's woefully inadequate treatments for MS, but also to experience the American medical cannabis system, and to throw his experience and his energy behind the legalisation movement in the UK through his involvement with NORML-UK and the UK Cannabis Social Clubs movement. Finally the Dopefiend talks to Clark about his involvement in the new UKCSC Podcast, which will aim to provide a focal point for this new grassroots approach to cannabis legalisation in the UK, and is soon to launch on Dopefiend.co.uk. After a visit to the VaporLounge, in which the Dopefiend gives an update on his progress through emotional bootcamp, and also samples some Jack Herer through his new mini 5-tree bubbler with his Arizer Solo vaporizer, we hear a musical interlude sent in by leejon420, and Homer the Stoner brings us this week's Cannabis News, including the former star of TV's "Shameless" arrested relating to a £15,000 cannabis farm, the possible link between teenage cannabis use and anxiety, whether cannabis could be the 21st century cure for obesity, and the Vermont farmer who crushed 7 police cars with his tractor during a pot bust.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:
On this week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend sets forth on his first ever solo wilderness walkabout in the South Downs, where he talks about feeling the need to escape his own consciousness by being in wide open spaces with only his thoughts and nature for company. The Dopefiend reads an email of support from Smoke Jaguar, who writes about how he is going through his own personal struggle, and suggests a musical interlude which conveys his own sense of grief. Next, we hear the Dopefiend's childlike excitement as he encounters horses, sheep, a babbling brook, paragliders, and some unidentified foliage with which he, inexplicably, decides to get involved. After more freedom-inspired music, the Dopefiend battles with wind in his microphone as he attempts to demonstrate a moving meditation, imparted to him by a pagan witch, and since used to great effect with several DopeTribers, including the Duke of Dope. Next, Shock and Stoo bring us news of how Dutch coffeeshop owners are fighting the ban on cannabis tourism, why newborn babies are testing positice for cannabis, the Washington DC Court of Appeals hears arguments to reschedule cannabis, the diplomat imprisoned for smuggling 123 pounds of pot, and more on Uruguay's moves towards legalisation. Finally, the Dopefiend settles down by the banks of a river to toke away his last half hour before catching the train back to real life.

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

This week's episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast come live from the second annual DopeCave Cup, the only growers' and breeders' cup on British soil, where seven of the finest strains from around the United Kingdom have been gathered under one roof to undergo the judgement of the esteemed panel of judges. After introducing the strains which are competing for the grand prize of a brand new Plenty vaporizer, worth £200, as well as a Premium membership of NORML-UK, and a goodie bag from Sweet-Seeds, the Dopefiend talks to the panel of judges, made up of Clark French, medical cannabis user and representative of the United Kingdom Cannabis Social Club movement; Sanj Chowdhary, Executive Director of NORML-UK, and Vince Noir Rocknroll Star, DopeTriber extraordinaire and resident horticultural expert at www.thegrowreport.com. The Judging begins in earnest, with joints and vapor hits soon filling the venue with incredible aromas, and the Dopefiend seeks the opinions of his glamorous assistant in organising the cup, Esse B, before heading into the commentary box and talking to the commentary team of Scooby Snakks and the Gremlin of Ganja about the sight before their hungry stoner eyes. After some explanation from Clark about why immuno-suppressant medication forces him to take the first hits on every joint, and to have his own Plenty mouthpiece for the purposes of judging, as the judging continues, and the Dopefiend keeps up with the opinions as they're formed, regularly keeping up with the commentators, as well as the one or two DopeTriber stowaways who have sneaked into the venue to watch the proceedings, such as Nez, and the newly married Max and Frankie Freakout. After a musical interlude from DopeTribe minstrel Son of Gonzo, the judging continues, including some controversy as the panel deliver their verdicts on a poorly-trimmed but great-tasting entry, and the increasing stonedness of the judges threatens to challenge their capacity for coherent speech, as the Dopefiend and Esse B ensure they don't miss out on some tastes of the world-class weed on offer by inserting themselves at the top of the rotation for the last couple of strains. After some discussion about how the incredibly high standard of growing and breeding in the United Kingdom today, the judges start a tough deliberation process which eventually results in the winner being chosen. To hear which grower will take away the top prize, make sure you're tuned in to the DopeCave Cup Winners' party, LIVE from the DopeCave, next Monday on Dopefiend.co.uk!
