...Yeah, no loss in the stone. I've been smoking the green for so long now that anything is going to taste different to me. Maybe it will get better as time goes on, who knows, but I think your right as far as getting them in the water from a fresh cut...

I got to try some water cured bud for the first time this week and it was rather potent, and the taste was fine. It smelled sorta like mints though which got me thinking. If fresh mint leaves were added to the water each time it was drained, would the bud retain the mint smell/flavor without affecting anything else?

you would probably be better off putting a couple mint leaves in the jars with the bud, just not too many, you don't wan't to add a lot of moisture or you can get mold problems after they are dried.

that is not a bad idea at all, get some really stinky air cured dried stuff and it should redistribute at least some of the oils and other "smelly" stuff just as normal air curing is meant to do.

Well, you gotta change the water every day. The idea of water curing is it leaches out a lot of chemicals and chlorophyll.

As for the mint, I think youd have to put a LOT of mint leaves in there in order for the scent to be detectable when you smoke it. I've smoked straight spearmint leaves and it doesn't leave a lingering minty taste in your mouth really. Not like a menthol cigarrette anyway...

Maybe if you put menthol in the jar; That would definately leave a minty taste in your mouth.

I am talking about after the bud has been water cured and dried, think of it as a second dry curing to enhance some of the smells that have been lost.

A few good peppermint tea bags in a little jar of buds , or joints , and the next day the weed had a menthol taste/effect . For a more dramatic effect , some peppermint essential oil on a tissue , and then in the jar , can be almost overpowering!

My wife doesn't like it much , but I do it now and again , for something different. I'm sure that it would "spruce up" the flavour of some water cured buds quite nicely....
