I have seen methods that suggest you dry the bud before the water curing, still same idea though. Dissolves the water soluble stuff out of the bud. Then dry as normal.

As for the dehydrator, I know that they operate at relatively low temps, but I have read that any form of speed drying using even moderate amounts of heat can degrade the thc thus reducing the quality of the bud. Has anyone compared the processes with the same harvest to see if the quality holds up?

Lil tidbit fact for everyone.

THC is not water soluble, either are the tricomes, just don't spray it with any pressurized faucet/hose.

THC will dissovle into oil, so no oil cures please lol

nice post. one thing i did not try was leaving the lid off. I used mason jars to water cure but left the lids on. I think ill try another batch and see how it comes out in comparison. I always figured you would want the chlorophyl out of the bud, and into the water, thus being the reason why you change the water every day. Ill see how it goes

Took it out after exactly 10 days. Broke apart the bud to get more air at it, threw it infront of a fan and let it dry overnight. Heres a pic, on the left, is the same bud that hasnt been watercured. On the right is the watercured bud. Ive now wake n baked with both (to get equal comparison). The main difference is how smooth the smoke is, the colour of the ash, and the way it burns. I noticed in a bong it almost sizzles and pops, try it..

i was reading how the govt turned down the med bill again and said something along the likes of marijuanas leaf material contained harmful chemicals. Not that it bothers me to smoke em i feel fine but could this be an answer to there argument. I mean cigarettes dont burn as clean as that picture nor any tobacco.

Peace

you cant tell from ash in a bowl .it has to be in a joint burning at consistent temperature. it will go that white regardless as you are holding the flame directly to the plant materials .. FYI

peace out

A joint works too, but i find the bowl works best. Ive seen many bowls go to a dark grey/black ash and I can assure you they were not smooth smokes. I chop the bud up really fine, and light the bowl once to get a cherry and kill it every time. That method works for me, and if its not broke, dont fix it.

I was always leary of water curing buds,(might try it now) but I love to water cure leave material. It makes great smoking material for joints or in a tobacco pipe. You get a slight buzz or keep your buzz going and it does not have that typical marijuana smell. Great post.
