The lame analogy between protecting telemarketing scam artists and the situation faced by Marc, Greg and Michelle has been sufficiently exposed and discredited; but let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Here we have the Justice Critic of the official opposition party, Vic Toews, advocating that "The government can say selling marijuana seeds is no longer a crime in Canada, then the extradition law would not apply."

Mr. Toew's suggestion would quickly short-circuit the DEA's whole case for extradition. Parliament may be recalled early to deal with the US government's decision to ignore yet another ruling in Canada's favour in the softwood lumber dispute. What an excellent opportunity this would be to change at least this part of our cannabis laws and allow for the sale of seeds. Health Canada already supports this.

Or am I just dreaming in Technicolour, again?

Chris
