I'm far from savvy when it comes to Torrents too, but...
use the app that is linked above (Azureus), it works awesome. Just d/l it, then follow the directions. When its done there will be an update, then its as simple as cliking on the torrent links above. The aopp will even start itself and do the d/l!!!!!!!!!!1

Next I gotta read up on the making shows a torrent and d/ling them.

This is such an awesome idea!!!

It will allow so much more of Marcs resources to be directed at defeating the "Evil-doer Empire" that has so mistakenly I.D.'d Marc as a menace to society. If anything they should be erecting a monument to the selflessness of Marc and all of his efforts at stopping this madness that is called "Prohibition"; and MAKING the elected officials take note of Marcs dedication and drive to end such foolishness.

I must say thank you for taking the initiative.
I am really dying to get all the Burning Shiva shows to share with friends. That is some powerfull stuff.

I set up Azureus and got the shows in the first page all seeding. No one is d'loading them. I suspect my tracker is not correct.

Could you post an ip for the "official" PTV tracker?

I have no idea what I am doing, but I am willing to seed if I can get the Burning Shiva shows!!!!!
I have 30 gig to dedicate to PTV shows.

Hey guys, just waiting to hear back from Karlis. If we can get him to agree on a naming scheme and start seeding the most recent shows as they come out then we can take care of the rest ourselves.

I'm going to migrate to the official tracker at http://media.pot.tv:6969 as I think the stats show this has been a phenomenal success. We've generated over 40Gig of traffic from only 250M (7 shows) of pot-tv, with only 42 people participating in the beta test. Total cost to pot-tv was 25c. Potential savings (if we assume the equivalent streaming RealVideo traffic was moved onto BitTorrent) comes to about $40.

Magnify that by 4000 shows and hundreds if not thousands of participants, and it feels like we're onto something

Here's my thoughts on the plan going forward. If we can convert all pot-tv shows to a consistent naming standard, and have new shows seeded on the official tracker, then we will have everything we need to maintain this as a volunteer community. I think we could get away with pot-tv seeding the 10 most recent shows for a period of 1 week each. Alternatively if 1 person can get ftp/scp access to the raw files then any seeding cost to pot-tv is minimised to a single download and the community can take care of all seeding.

Once we've got a naming standard I'll start releasing torrents of the archive in batches and announce them on the official tracker.

If we could create a dedicated CC forum for announcing and requesting torrents, we could tie it in with the tracker and provide links straight to the torrent in forum posts here.

Once all of this has been achieved, I think we would be ready to announce this as an official service - if pot-tv agrees. The final step is to get a torrent link on each show page, particularly the most recent shows that are on the homepage.

Hats off to 'niall' & 'Karlis' here people.

What an excellent idea! Yes the 'Burning Shiva' shows are something that I am very interested in; as I have yet to really view them all.

Absolutely brilliant guys, it looks like this dream may come true!

I can't wait for the new system to get up and running.. I'm sure with the future torrents to come, we will drop a lot of wasted bandwidth by Pot-TV.

And a Pot-TV penny saved is a Pot-TV penny earned!

be real interesting to see what the savings actually turn out to be. naturally the more people that use it the greater the savings; also the more people use it the more people will hopefully continue to seed the files once they're finished.

like i said, i'm keeping a close eye on this. still seeding that initial batch that was put out ... might close that up (unless people need me to keep it open) and starting getting few things organized.

awesome idea, as long as people play nice w/ the torrents they upload ... but, since the content of Pot-TV seems to be pretty well put together i don't actually see this as being a problem.
