How hard would it be to set up a forum on the thcrally.ca website? That way the public could view the proceedings, and we could use it to build the hype. Plus we could build a new thread on this one ...

...or we could just set up a link to this forum, and this conversation.

I'd suggest both. A forum on the thc site and a thread here.

Main effort on the thc site, which will draw more google traffic as well.
And regular updates here.

Who can build a forum?
I can't, my scripting is a little rusty and I've only so far made it to chapter 25 of the Javascript bible. LOL.
Software can be purchased, but it would be better if we had someone to build it. I should be rather simple.
I'll look into it.

Many cannabis forums, directories of forums, forum software, hosts, Free Remotely Hosted Message Boards, etc.:
http://www.angelfire.com/rnb/y/forums.htm and
http://corporatism.tripod.com/forums.htm

The links on the above mirrored pages should give a lot of ideas on what might work best, and what others are using.

We were talking about music at the rally next year earlier in the conversation. I have a friend who sings and has bongo's. She came with me this year and I spoke to her about singing and bringing her bongos next year and she's totally into it.
Anyone who has any musical instruments should bring them.
Are we just going to have people jam on parliment hill or are we going to have actual performers on a stage?

Also don't under estimate the power of a CD player...I always thought that playing some real poignant and relevant tunes at and around 4:20 is a great way to get people going...Something like Styx's "Light Up", Smashmouth's "Stoned", hell maybe even "Pass the Dutchie" for a few laughs..

I am the farthest thing from a Styx fan, but I have to admit these lyrics rock...

Quote:

LIGHT UP everybody....Join us in this celebration...LIGHT UP and be HAPPY, sweet sweet smells will fill the air!!"

Okay I think the real word is 'sounds' and not 'smells', but it had to be what he was thinking when he wrote the tune...

There are other tunes too of course, but they're not coming to me right now...

I have 25 cd's full of weed songs that I madly pulled before napster went down. I arranged them into categories and there's about 12 - 17 songs on each CD. I play them at my comedy shows. Also Tim and I have a mutual friend who plays in a traditional west africa drumming band, and she'd come out if she had notice. He band is very good, very energetic and loud! Some kind of music will happen next year for sure! My roomates a jazz musician and he does sound. We could bring him on board so we're not deafened! Acoustics are very important. He could play snippets of cd's between the speakers.

What about a cannabis consumer talent show? Showcase people's various abilities and dispell one-dimensional views of who a "pot smoker" is. Make it a family-friendly event and have free face-painting for the kids, or balloons, or something else to create a more welcoming atmosphere for the mainstream. *That is who needs to hear our message. (*the mainstream and politicians)

Maybe a toking area would need to be set up in an area away from where the information would be distributed so the public would feel "safe" to investigate.
