Don't know about seeds. We are in the same boat here as the rest of the US in that department, I would imagine. Without Emery Direct, I'd think your next best bet would be from Amsterdam or some UK company.
Growers here don't breed for seed. It is pretty much clones, clones, clones. In fact, for all intensive purposes, Trainwreck and Green Crack are out of circulation, except for as cuttings from what I hear. I mean there may be a few stray seeds around, but legend has it that true Humboldt genetics are now "clone only" strains.
If someone were smart, they'd get some clones and try to "self" them for seeds. Do you know how many PMs I get asking for a Humboldt seed "connection???"
Shit, if I KNEW of one, I'd gladly share. Our stuff could provide tons of therapeutic enjoyment from coast to coast. I don't understand why it is hard to find back east. I mean, wouldn't it be worth someones effort to transport a few clones out that way and get a corner on the market?

Don't kid yourself. Humboldt has no monopoly on quality. I've smoked a lot of weed from (and in) Humboldt, and it's no better than kind bud everywhere.
People are growing good genetics there, but that's true everywhere there's a concentration of people interested in the chronic--where I live for example. Excellent stuff is available coast to coast. Humboldt just has an unusual concentration of stoners. Hence, more quantity; reliable quantity.
There are plenty of great strains on the east coast already. That's why there's no market for clones transported cross county.
The dry areas of shakey quality tend to be small towns with a conservative population--think Central Nebraska.

Just making those comments based on the fact that I get PMs requesting particular strains from this area (i.e. Trainwreck); so since those PMs tell me they can't get it back east, I figured this was the case.
Not trying to imply that good weed only grows here, just saying that folks from all around want Trainwreck and ask me where/how they can get it. Thus why I thought there might be a market for Humboldt strains elsewhere.

I grew up in the south but later moved to the midwest. The south had some good variety with decent prices. good o of nice brick for 70. The kill, though, was much pricier as an eight could go for $80-120. In the midwest, bud was more expensive but I stumbled onto some superkill purple (I kid you not) bud for $100 quarter. Needless to say, it was worth it.

Gotcha. There is a legitimate cachet to Humboldt County. It's a target rich environment for the kind bud. It's like looking for unemployed actors: They're everywhere, but there sure are concentrations in LA and NY.
