Where Do I Get Peyote?

Recommended Posts

I live near Niagara Falls, and really want to try Peyote. It is legal in Canada, so where can I buy it. Are there any stores that carry it? I'd drive as far as Toronto to find a store.

pyote is native to southern North America, mainly distributed in Mexico. In U.S.A. it grows in the south limit state of Texas. In Mexico it grows in the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas in the north to San Luis Potosi and Zacatecas[6]. It is primarily found at elevations of 100 to 1500 m and exceptionally up to 1900 metres in the Chihuahuan desert, but is also present in the more mild climate of the state of Tamaulipas. Its habitat is primarily in desert scrub, particularly thorn scrub in Tamaulipas, and it is most common on or near limestone hills.[

Yeah but not where it originated from unless you are a certain type of native american. There are two places I know of where you can pay and go out on these peoples property and they will dose you with peyote and you can trip. Never did try that seemed like to much of a hassle when all I'd have to do is go down to south Tx and find it myself.

If you intend on actually *trying* to grow peyote for your own "use" it's not really worth it. Peyote is a verrrrrry slow growing plant...The growth can rate can be increeased somewhat by grafting it onto a faster cacti like trichocereus pachanoi (san pedro)or it can also be grafted onto Pereskiopsis Spathulata. But even if you could get a peyote to grow to the right size it would take several of them coz they aint very big (five inches or less) & mescaline (the fun stuff) isn't very potent (absolute minimum of 300 milligrams)to feel anything.

Peyote is 100% legal in Canada (live or dry).

"17. Mescaline (3,4,5--trimethoxybenzeneethanamine) and any salt thereof, but not peyote (lophophora)"

However this could mean anything other then peyote that contains msscaline is illegal.

There are places that sell it online in Canada and you should be able to find them by searching on google Peyote Canada.

If you buy a San Pedro cactus (legal everywhere) it takes a 12" section for a good trip. There are different ways of preping the cactus according to Aeroid.

We used to get a lot of peyote in Vancouver in the late 60s.  Dried buttons where you dug out all the fine hairs in the middle then chopped up the button as fine as you could.  No food processors back then so it took a while.  Cheese grater was handy for some but usually cost you some skin. :D

Taking a button or 2 down with a big shot of hard liquor seemed to get it working faster but not long after you felt the mind creep the puking started.  Best to just go with it and heave your guts out hard.  5 min and it's all over and the fun begins.  Trippy as shit!  Kind of like the middle between some righteous acid and a heavy dose of good magic mushrooms.

Like acid it can lead your mind down the darkest corridors so if you have buried skeletons in there think long and hard before you take that path.  It may be a lot rougher than you are prepared to travel.  I've had friends that never came back and their lives were totally changed afterwards and not often to the good.

Tread carefully and take an experienced friend with you.

:peace:

It takes peyote several years to grow from seed to a button big enough to get you high.

San Pedro cactus contains more mescaline alkaloids than peyote, it grows a few feet each year, and it's legal.  Extracting its goodies is not.

3-5yrs, or so I've heard, killed my seedlings 1st winter with too much water in a cold basement. San Pedro does seem easier to grow.

I'm beginning to wonder about the legal risk nowadays though... you used to be able to bring Mimosa hostilis root bark into Canada, for the last 5+ or so yrs you are courting being charged with importing that weight of DMT if you try. Live specimens should be fine, but significant amounts of dried cactus could easily get treated as if it was pure mescaline under the right/wrong circumstances.

Has it come to the point that the only people interested in joining the forum and posting are those that have something for sale?

Yeah, Farmgirl and Unregistered above have some good points. I agree.

Better to buy it fresh and avoid trouble. Its considered an illegal drug in dried form / crystal. Also, San Pedro/ Peruvian Torch is much cheaper and easier to come by.

I've purchased it before online locally in Canada. There is a shop called Cactus Kingdom that sells all manner of ethnobotanical cacti mail order. You need about 12 inches of Pedro for a trip, or multiple buttons of peyote. On a time scale, growing Pedro/ Torch is must faster and more economical and easier!

Peyote is rewarding enough to grow for its beauty, probably not worth eating after you have spent a decade growing a larger enough button.

Thank God we live in Canada Eh?

Some of the latest headlines I have seen about this class of plant point to it being used as part of the treatment for alcoholism.  The First Nations should jump all over that aspect so every Reserve and Reservation between the North Pole and the tip of South America has the right to trade with each other as far as heritage medicines are concerned.

It boils down to the nearest 'rehab' would the the 'hospital' that uses native cures for the locals as well as 'part-time tribal members'. That would include 'South American pop' that has a coco leave in it and is available at 7-11 as a energy drink.  The way the barriers are falling it makes sense for the Government to collect taxes that is now going to the black market. The fact it helps more people than it hurts is not even part of the debate.
